Stan I'm curious as to what highway you were on here during this chase. I was on Highway 115 on Saturday Night (6-5) west of Herscher where I got my 1st ever successful tornado intercept :)
@stanswx Wow! I must have went past the same area cause I was entirely on 115 once I got North of Forrest. That is very nice chase country up there, even at night :)
James Covington earlier had told me he saw your Spotter Network Icon near the Peoria storm. How did you fare with that storm? Did you see any of the storm that I intercepted?
This video is a great example to show people that when the funnel cloud disappears visibly, it doesn't mean that the tornado has lifted or discipated. The debris on the ground was a great indicator to show that the tornado was still active. Great chase you had. I managed to see three on the 22nd of April in Texas this year. I haven't chased in the Illinois area yet.
@Torn80cj You make a great point about this on that video. In fact, the videos that I got on Saturday night if it had been daylight would have likely shown something very simliar with the lifting and dropping appearance of the "Tornado Cloud" but the rotation still on the ground.

There was supposedly a bad tornado that hit near Manteno, IL (Kankakee Co.) in 1948.

That's a great effect to have the tornado warning on the radio in the background with the video of the tornado!
