  • The Phillies twice tried to sign him to play first base in their minor league system.Good thing he didn't take them up on their offer:Aside from possibly missing out on a music career,he may also have gotten shot as did their first baseman by a crazed fan a few years later.

  • Conway was always one of my favorites...this tune was really made to compete with Elvis, and it did....recorded on MGM. RIP to one of the best.

  • The best voice to ever do country music !!!!!

  • WTF does it matter where they got it from family guy or not as long as their enjoying this mans music also take consideration that some people waznt raised on this music im just saying

  • simply awesome

  • Why is there 85 dislikes on this, I must admit I found this video from Brian May doing a cover of this song but god there is some miserable bastards on this earth, this video was amazing!

  • "One interesting fact about Twitty's original recording of this song was that Twitty's voice sounded so similar to that of Elvis Presley that many people thought that the song was actually recorded by Presley, using "Conway Twitty" as a pseudonym." (Ref. Wikipedia)

  • Ahhh I'm a 14 yr old and heart broken again.

  • @Rjay290 I believe David Sanborn hosted night music. Im not 100% sure though but google would be.

  • what a family guy.

  • What a voice.

  • So glad I can listen to this talent, this voice, this hero anytime I want. Conway started in rock and roll with this song and crossed over to country. He had a fabulous career and an even more fabulous fan following. This man was amazing! I can not say enough good things about him. One morning my clock-radio went off to wake me for work and I heard Conway had passed, I couldnt believe it til I heard it the 3rd time. Miss him so much

  • this music remind me of the olden days when I was young boy.... everything was a lot better it was really good time

  • Mum used to really like Conway. I read his biography, the man had a great sense of humor, it was a fun read. Especially when he had a crappy car and painted lemons all over it. I had a sucky Kia and did the same thing with it.

  • I am a diehard classic country fan and I enjoy many artists, but none of them have touched the stage presence or talent of Conway. What happened to this talent??? Bring back talent.

  • The man became ONE WITH THE SONG. I am always blown away by this singular performance. His passion fills that room and my room and will always impress true music lovers vis-a-vis a AN EPIC OVERFLOW OF TRUE PASSION!!!

  • Conway was the real deal. He was classy and the best.

  • I'm 28 years old and the first concert I ever attended was Conway Twitty and to this day NO SINGER has topped him. This man felt the music he was singing.

  • Awesome.

  • They just dont do this anymore! When did music lose it's soul? Why doesnt anyone sing from their guts anymore?

  • Keep coming back to Conway - he seems to get better with each view despite the average video quality. Of this song is an all time classic, and though covered by many, the writer Conway delivers the best reading. Probably having a beer with Johnny Cash, Waylon & Marty Robbins R.I.P

  • Just did this song by Conway Twitty..."It's Only Make Believe"...not an easy task, but check it out. COnway is gone, but WE who love his work are still bringing it to you. John Tyler - jtyler5

  • I just love his music i remember growing up and hearing my mom play his musicand cleaning the house at the same time,he will never be forgotten R.I.P Conway Loretta Lynn Rice ,loving country music.

  • I personally don't understand dislikes, especially on an old song. Why'd ypu click on it in the first place? you must have heard the song before to even click on it. If you don't like the song, why'd you click on it?

  • He was dubbed 'the Prince of Country Music' many years ago. I have never seen him in concert by we grew up listening to him for many years. I was saddened when he passed away. He will always be the force of country and in his delivery has met no match. May you sing forever amongst the angels Conway!

  • Conway's performance here is outstanding as usual - he is probably the only Country performer in the same league live as Marty Robbins and Johnny Cash. A number of Conway's videos are slightly out of 'focus' - is this a deliberate distortion like the clips from the Highwaymen? Amazing voice and stagecraft from Conway as good as it gets R.I.P

  • Fantastic voice Go Conway!!!!

  • right now this song is about to but me with someone =)

  • TighT!!!!!! reminds me of my uncle Tim, I miss him N love him.

  • miss you conway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG !! The first 3d video in youtube!

  • Every now and then TV transcends it's backwash and you might see incredible things, like the night this aired with Conway singing later in the show with The Residents... I continue to be knocked out even after all these years after watching this in New York City, the place Bo Diddley professed the absolute home of Rock And Roll because everyone came to NYC to be discovered by Alan Freed and this magic here continues approaching 3 million views. All I can say is: Conway, we will always love you.

  • Conway is gone off!! Love this chyt long time. Was that dave letterman?

  • this guys the bomb for us older gals and im sure the young ones could get the picture if they took the time go conway love you guy

  • Damn! That is how it is done! Truly one of America's greats.

  • Wonderful, he really nails it, better than the original.

  • I usually dont like country music but this one is a classic.

  • Keep coming back to Conway - never see the likes of Conway, Marty Robbins or Johnny Cash again. Great singers with natural talent combined with charisma and stage craft honed thru years on the road. Quite irreplaceable . . .

  • Now THAT was music.

  • a classic..

  • A wonderful mix of blues, doo-wop, country and a hint of rock, I remember well when this song came out in 1958, I was nine years old, one of the first songs I remember. This is one of those songs that is timeless.

  • Conway Twitty Everybody!

  • Conway died from a stomach aneurysm known as a ruptured blood vessel.

  • Great Singer Conway was indeed ! If only today's so-called excuses for talent had what you had.. God Bless RIP ! !

  • Conway was a bad " mamma jamma" ! I bet yall did not even know that he even inspired James Brown (The Godfather Of Soul) to write and do a number called "Try Me".

  • He died leaving Branson Missouri from a heart attack, he died in the Branson Hospital.

  • I was farting when I was listening to this song I made a poo in my pants

  • This ia real country. Compare this the CRAP that's played now. Maybe someday we'll get back to great songs and artists like this. CONWAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That is INCREDIBLE! Flawless!!! True SOUL MUSIC...Conway Twitty is one of the great ones!! This is coming from a Grateful Dead Head and Beatle Fanatic!!

  • AWESOME!

  • U know George Jones was right... no 1 in Country has really given their heart and soul to get to me and you. George Straight,Allan jackson. they are 1 of the last true country artists ,and female country artists to today they all sound the same.. Taylor swift Gretchen Wilson. that Jo Robinson they are all pop influnced. Miranda Lambert. and same with the male artists today no has that distinctd voice. well prolly whats his name. the raspy voiced singer... .

  • @bernzie717 Im gonna have to say Jamey Johnson is the last true country artists... He writes and sings his own music... The same way Waylon, All 3 Hanks, Johnny Cash does.. the way all of the greats did.. George Straight is true country, but.... I think he was better when he wrote his own music.

  • kickass, thanks family guy for opening for me a Conway Twitty, this is best mate for me and vodka

  • is this video meant to be in 3D or something? :L it looks it. (r.i.p CT)

  • @dllavid This song is formative rock from before he went country. But your point is spot on. There are plenty of covers of his work from modern artists and they always sound like little boys.
