I saw Ray Charles sit in with Aretha at the Fillmore West and also was lucky to see/hear the King Curtis rehearsal that afternoon. Amazing ! The band, the riffs they came up with at a moment's direction. One stuck in my head so much that I went up on stage and figured it out ... playing it over and over and over on the piano until Bill Graham asked me to stop :)
