Me & you & a dog named Boo said listen to th'ugh radio ... watchin' Scottyard grow, Thatamaboy. This song always brings tears to my eyes, even its inclusion in the fantasy clip outro of Yes, Dear. Similar to the theme to Courtship of Eddie's Father. Conjures up memories of Matchbox Superfast wheels. I would love to karaoke this joint, word.
Song makes me cry everytime I hear it..my mom use to sing it to my brother to whom she absolutely adored. She adopted him when he was a month old. His name was Scotty. She loved him dearly. Both of them passed away. Him of a brain aneurysm @ 33 and mom of cancer @ 58. This song is on my myspace page as a tribute to the both of them. I love them soooo very much and it just reminds me of the both of them. How much songs can effect of all..Greatly written!
Great video creation for your mum! I do enjoy listening to this song whenever I hear it (if ever, which is not until now, or in recent years). I may have this song in my vinyl collection, and though I remember it fairly well, it remains an all-time fave. The song on here is a re-recording of the original song, but I reckon it stands up pretty well to the original and is still fairly well done along with the beautiful video you've made. Many blessings to you, Godwriter - AWESOME vid!!!
good video! i've watched my calvin grow into a decent young man. GOD do i wish i could do it again. life seems too short when you raise children and so long ago when you were young and single with no goals.
Great Video, I too have a Scotty, he was four when it came out.. It was such a shock because he also had a teddy bear named "Fred" (my fathers name).. Mac Davis wrote this song and it was released by B&M Records which was owned by Bobby Goldsboro and Bob Montgomery ( a Nashville Producer) and visited our home and brought the record to us. Bob Montgomery and Buddy Holly both started in Texas. Hey, I still sing this song even tho Scotty is 44 years old now..great job on the video.
Great video, you do your mother proud and I'm sure she was very thrilled with this video. May you always keep your family close and cherish every day for life goes way to fast. May God Bless you and your whole family.
OMG; that is too precious! Thanks for sharing:-) I love this song; it always moves me to tears; I sing this to my son; it just reminds me of him. Found this video while searching for the song; you did such a great job with it!!
This is a most awesome video production for your mum, and a real delight to see for myself. I vaguely remember this beautiful song (and one I never hear on the radio again), and a song that I think I've got on a 45rpm vinyl although I think this song may be a later remake. Still and awesome tune nonetheless, and very well done with the video here. God bless you, Godwriter :)
Awesome video production for your mum, godwriter. It's such a joy to view something that is and would be so precious in years to come, and that would go for any mum, such as mine. God bless and take care.
Absolutely beautifully well done vid for your mum, godwriter, and for viewers such as myself, very impressive and it pulled a string in my heart for sure. God bless and take care.
This is an alternate recording, either live or performed at a different time. This is not the recording that was used on the 45 or the one that was played on the radio. Listen to any of the other Youtube versions and you'll hear the difference.
I have a lil brother named Scotty. Whenever hes sad i play this song and always makes him feel better. :)
