this is an obvious result. the iphone has no gap or protection. The iphone is metal to very thin plastic in a heavy body.

Samsung S2 is a plastic light body with plastic rim, more plastic then glass. This affords for more energy to dissipate around the frame rather than being transferred straight to the glass.

I agree the iphone is a poor design from a drop point of view but is just beautifully made and with care. I can't say the same for the s2, which looks like a cheap lump of abs plastic.
