  • And i thought the pacific northwest couldn't be beat! Wow..wv is beautiful..green and lush with rolling hills. Inncredible.

  • If nothing else WV is a fun place to drive through the roads are simple, and clear.

  • I'm surprised to find you here, Laura. Haven't seen any of your videos for quite some time, as I erased all of mine and went to live video, but now I'm back. I loved watching them in the past. I liked this for the movement, taking us along for the ride. I have roads like this in my part of the country, too, and love riding them, mostly via motorcycle. Best to you as always and hope you are well.

  • Once a West Virginian - Always a West Virginian!

  • I hope you enjoyed the tour of the coal mine. I live about 12 miles from there. Mother was born in Dearborn in 1955. Her Dad worked for Ford at the time. Like many others from WV my Grandparents had to leave to find work.

  • thanks! I was in the area 'cause a friend was performing at the festival in Glenville. I went driving around and got this "great" idea to record music with the video while driving. :)

  • @bsktchick hey i live in beckley , w,v, can you tell me where bout this is, thank you

  • o come on these roads are straight for West Virginia lol :)

  • true... I was hoping that the song would have been longer and would have gotten to some of the curvier parts on this road... But the song ended and I couldn't find a place to pull over and do another video like this one. Ah well! :) Next time I'm in WV, maybe!

  • West Virginia seems like a pretty place. I especially like it how there are many trees there.

  • There's no state in the union I'd rather call home more than West Virginia. <3

I live in the Poca/Nitro/Cross Lanes area, myself

  • Amen ! What parts ya from ? Im from Mason County

  • talk about deja vu! me too!!!!!! i lived in glenville and while watchin this video i kept thinking omg this road looks so familiar then i read the comments and i was totally excited! i saved it to show my friends here in Mississippi what a beautiful place i once called home. Anyone know where Linn,WV is? Bc thats where i actually lived but went to glenville to do the grocery shopping and errands,etc.... OMg thank you so much for sharing the great memories of Gods Country!!!

  • I have never sewn this road in my life before.

I live in Paw Paw, and I have never been to Glenville!:) Even though I have never been there before, the video was great.

    Thanks Blueathena!

  • wv is the best place to live hands down

  • vancouver bc canada is the best place to live in north america

  • Is this place anywhere near Morton Travel Plaza, cuz in goona work there from december this year, i'd like to be there on summer or spring, they have told me winter gets below zero!

  • Ah.. I know this road perfectly! I use to live right at the end of this video! You started at the old barn at the bottom of Stewarts Creek Hill and drove on 33 toward Glenville.. Know just about every persons home you passed on this video.. Great Video!

  • Chyeah boyy!

I am a West Virginian born and raised! <333

  • I live in Berkeley County! Way different than soutnern WV! I have more of an Northern accent so when i visit my family in Mercer County they make fun of me cause i don't have an southern accent!

  • I live out in Pendleton County

  • this is great! more please!!!!!

  • Nice work! Videos like these might win you a car at a new West Virginia Tourism website. Just Google "West Virginia Answer the Call and upload your videos! You can even upload stuff you already have... Like this one!

  • where were you at in wv? i had the biggest fuckin deja vu watching this

  • haha! I was on hwy. 119 between Glenville and Weston. :)

  • I looks more like Route 5 between Grantsville and Glenville. I am from Grantsville, and travel this road a lot!

  • I stand corrected. I recognize a barn that says this is 33/119 from Glenville to Weston. I travel both quite a bit. It's 33/119, not just 119. It's going in a more eastern direction than northern. That's because 33 tends to dominate that route from Spencer to Buckhannon.

  • yeah, I was heading south to Glenville on 119 to pick up a friend from the festival there. :) Recently I have been on the part of 33/119 that goes up to Buckhannon. :)

  • I bet I've traveled 33/119 maybe two or three thousand times (perhaps more). I know who owns barns along the road there, in Gilmer County, and some in Lewis. It's funny that we tend to leave off the 119 (even at Weston they do, on the traffic sign!) and just say 33.

  • me too LOL

  • Nice trip, looks like one of the many roads I rode my motorcycle on :)

  • McDowell County AKA "The County"

    WV rocks.

  • This is home...

  • ha my dad lives in hinton i going to visit for two weeks but any way ive been on that road before ha i know because the barn at the begining

  • North-Olgebay Park. East-Harpers Ferry, historical gems. SE- Forests, The Greenbrier, Lewisburg, loads of things to do outdoors.

South-Beckley, Tamarack-shopping, New River Gorge Bridge. Charleston-nice,Urban Mall, river tours, eateries, entertainment.

West-Parkersburg Nice town, Fenton Handblown glass.

NC-Morgantown, WVU, lots to do and see.

State Park system is awesome. Worldclass whitewater, skiing, mountain biking all over the state. Nice people everywhere. Montani Semper Liberi.

  • I am actually coming to Elkins in a week or so.

  • I hunted a lot just outside of Elkins. We stayed at the Econo lodge and hunted up near Bickle Knob. Still go there from time to time, but not much anymore.

  • i love wv!

  • Man, I havent been back home but probably less than 10 times in the past 5 years. I moved to Charlotte, NC for job reasons. I've found a bunch of WV videos on here tonight and I forgot how much I really miss WV. Bar none THE most beautiful state in the union. I've been all over the US, Australia and New Zealand and still there isn't a more beautiful place than WV!!!

  • I live in upstate SC...but somehow, seeing this, it reminded me so much of home...I'll be leaving soon. For the frozen north. But this video i can see from any computer, and maybe it will help ease my homesickness.

  • see me deeply moved now ...yep, I do miss West Virginia just like the others ...I was there as an exchange student some 20 years ago and still dream about it ...thanks for reminding me how beautiful it is! I might be back someday

  • I love it... I miss west virginia...

  • is the music american bluegrass or irish celtic music?

  • sorry it took me a while to respond.

The song is performed by Kenny Jackson, "No Corn on Tygart."

Its not celtic music, though it is played on fiddle. Its not bluegrass style, but it is old-time fiddle music. Old-time music often gets mislabeled as bluegrass, but it is a different style.

  • West Virginia is the greatest state there is. I've traveled a lot but there's no place like home! Thanks for putting this up!

  • this make me so home sick :( i miss upshur co wv

  • This ain't bad.

  • Nice, but I wished my real WV didn't go WRONG.

  • You made me Homesick...This could be anywhere...

  • Thanks I am from West Virginia, Parkersburg, and my wife is from Buckhannon, enjoyed the ride and music!

  • it looks like an area near the Elk River :). You did a great job! Seeing things like this makes me glad i have never moved away. i cant imagine living anywhere else. If you haven;t visited WV be sure to visit Southern WV too!

  • yeah, I need to come back and see the south-eastern bit of WV, where you kiss your own ass on turns. hehe! At least that is what I have been told. Might be bad, for me, because I love taking pictures and I would be crying inside because a curve would be too sharp but the scenic from that point would be beautiful, and yet no where to park! lol...

    :)

  • lol, im in Fairmont...and i was scared the whole time watching the video, cause i thought it was one of those things where once you get relaxed, a zombie pops up screaming, scaring the shit out of me...but it didnt happen, so great vid

  • hehehe... I hate those zombie vids! they scare me. :)

  • Awesome..lol..That looks like Boone County..lol..Wish I was there. Thanks for the reminder.

  • I was thinking Boone County while watching it, too! Are you originally from there?

  • Yep, I lived there most of my life before coming to Louisiana.

  • Boone Born and raised for me too.. Grew up in Seth, Graduated to Sherman, and now living in Charleston.

  • Wonderful! Takes me back home! Miss WV so much.

  • cool video, original idea, love it, go mountaineers

  • WTF i know where this is! xD COUNTRYYYY haha

  • I was born in Logan WV..this video could be shot anywhere in southern WV. Looks the same in virtually every town.

  • where were you driving? it looks like a nice drive. im from huntington, wv

  • I was on highway 119 going south towards Glenville. I had a fiddling friend to pick up from the festival there, and then head back to Kentucky. It was a fun drive. :) I tried this little video 3 times, but I never got to get some of the REAL curves I liked. hehe

  • hey, thanks for picking me up and dropping me off. That was a fun little ride! who was the music?

    peace & love-

  • hi, BlueAthena, welcome! West VA is such a beautiful place. The music fits perfectly. Nice job!
