This car is really good and capable. In my country it is pretty common to have cars equipped with bulletproof glass and those weigh extra 250kg. My friends travel with the car fully loaded plus the glass and its engine is powerful enough.
compared to BMW X3, Acura RDX, Infiniti EX, Lincoln MKX, and Lexus RX, this car has a fighting chance with decent fuel economy and a nice luxurious cockpit. However, i would NEVER choose this over the new Mercedes GLK
Land Rover fans are thoroughly brainwashed. I've driven and worked on the original Series models on up and all of them are complete CRAP compared to any American or Japanese models that cost many thousands less. That Land Rover nameplate is all you get for the extra money. Kudos to Land Rover for having pulled off this scam for so many years.
@carlisle9414 I love the way your comment was marked as spam by the land rover fan boys. I drove land rovers for 10 years. I thought they were pretty good untill I got a new Jeep JK Unlimited CRD. Blows my old V8 110 and V8 90 out of the water. Land Rovers can not articulate on there front radius arms anything like jeeps 5 link front end. traction is effortless in the jeep where the radius arms bind up and wheels break traction even before the springs and dampers are at full articulation.
1:24 wow 16 city 23 Hwy MPG that is so terrible and it only has a 3.2 V-6 with 230HP that is sad

Off road, it rocks. On road, not so much. I prefer the X3.

@etkambara the x3 is a pointless car, why would anybody buy one over a 5 series estate?

Except in the real world you can get an LR2 for ~$30k loaded (due to incentives), and the GLK is more like $38k (no options) - $51k (loaded)

It's hard to deny the panache of the Land Rover nameplate. You truly feel wrapped in Luxury. Can you give us some more power Rover?
