To the guy who said Paul didn't live up to his expectations. It looks to me like Paul was sort of drunk...but it's also obvious that he was REALLY missing John. Probably Neil reminded him of John a bit because he's such a maverick, musically and otherwise. Think how hard it must be to have been the hugest band in history, and the greatest songwriters and then your other half is suddenly yanked out of your life forever...but you have to still hear the music every day all over the planet.
I think macca wasn't up to my expectations. With all due respect he didn't seem to take this performance as seriously and found him over acting and out of place, just didn't fit. Maybe it''s just me but i believe neil totally owns this song.
@alcalaed im not entirely sure he really planned on coming on stage in the first place. Im willing to bet it was kind of a spontaneous thing. If it were planned, they probably would have organized it alot better. Not saying it wasnt fucking awesome, i was there almsot front row :P
@AirCanadaPilot Congratulations man! Now that's a honour being in the front row with these two giants... You're probably right about the spontaneous fact... I wish that inmy country we'd have a chance to see this type of event but our jackass pseudo-president is like a scarecrow :(
Boilingpoint3 - I appreciate how you feel but people can write what they feel on youtube as long as people don't threaten any one. I was just saying what I feel and sometimes I might say Neil is better indirectly or some times blatantly.
Just my taste .. you can have yours. First amendment says it's OK and I read a lot of stuff on youtube that I don't like but one can either forget & not let it bother you r write to the person, as you did. But I don't think I am going to change . Take care.
My math was off? OK, Stevie Ray and Hendrix on guitar, writers John and Neil and early Costello, Keyboard Ray from the Doors, and no Billy Preston you worked on the worst Beatles record "abbey road", and please no backup singers.
Oh wow, I saw him do this in Auckland, I cannot imagine what I would have thought if Macca walked out during "A day in the life"... Thanks so much for posting this.
Thanks for posting this Steve. I was there too, an amazing, amazing set from Neil. 'Words' was the killer for me, just so so special. Hope you enjoyed the show too.

@screamingpirhana Yeah, you can see it at the very end of the song... To me he is one of the most fascinating persons on this earth.

@screamingpirhana Drunk? Could Sir Paul just maybe be really happy to sing this song with Neil?

I was there and it seemed like paul was pissed up....what du rekon?
nilscoram 2 years ago
Paul was probably pissed cause John Lennon wrote all of the great Beatles songs and Neil Young wrote even greater songs.

don't say that john did a fucking big effort
and you just say it like john didn't do anything
i love neil young and lennon
but if you want to say that neil's better at least do it indirectly
