Damn Micky! He's rockin that fro he's got there. Usually I'm weirded out by big hair, but damn he looks hot there. The only time one of the Monkees' hairstyles ever scared me was Davy's mullet. Fear the mullet...
holly hell davy you look sexy and take it off love we want to see more i could come thought screen man and hug davy we love you davy, thanks for uploard it :)
Yeah, the decade of the sixties was contrived of cool music. I wish I could have met them as a kid. Oftentimes, I wonder how my life would have been like, if I was a teen during the sixties. I'd be ten or twelve years older than what I am now. I'll tell you how the concert was like.
It appears I will NOT be able to attend the Palmer, Alaska state fair, as Chicago, Illinois is a considerable distance. If I could , I would...trust me. I grew up with Monkee music and reruns all my life and became a committed fan just about three years ago. Unfortunately, I wasn't around for the Monkees when they were young. I'm only 19!
I saw Micky last Thursday. He was great and phunny. It began to rain as he took center stage. His sister, Coco was with him singing. For a 63-year-old performer, he sounded excellent, and looked much younger too.
The special seating was only half full, and the audience behind us was between 60 - 85 people. It wasn't a jam packed turn out. Micky sang "Purple Haze," and Coco sang: "Different Drum." Concert lasted one hour.
Palmer Alaska State Fair, August 21st. If you do come, bring a tennis ball with you and toss it in the air. I will see it, and come and introduce myself. RU able to make the trip?
I've been a Monkees fan since I was five , which was 1966. Such great music and memories!
One correction. Micky came on August 28th, which was a Thursday, not a Friday as I had originally mentioned. The sound / quality of music was like 85 -90% as good as they sounded like some four decades ago. Not bad for a 63-year-old performer! Everyone loved it. At one time, a woman came running up to the stage, jumped onto the platform and gave Micky a hug. Security was cautious and decided she was not a threat. Micky reciprocated the gesture, and the concert continued in fashion.
Davy and Micky sang at my state fair (NY) when I was in high school (1990's)... I took a rose up to the stage for Davy. As he knelt down to get it he stared at me and sang "look out here comes tomorrow" to me... i was sooo excited!!
They got both Davy's and Micky's first name spelt wrong, they have Davy spelt as ''Davey'' and Micky as ''Mickey'', there are no e's in there names people! Lol, but it is an honest mistake. :p
Anyone got clips of micky and davy [romoting the single oh my my or i love you better i know they did do it on a show or something would be cool to find that i love oh my my changes is my fav monkees album of all time
thanks! interesting segment. Natural entertainers. I am lucky to have the LP from the cartoon "The Point" which followed. I remember seeing the cartoon on TV some decades back.
I love the songs from The Point, especially the versions that Davy & Micky recorded. Wish they had done a live taped version also to see what the play was like! May Nilsson's music live forever :-)
@girl920 Agreed on all your points. Really wish they'd recorded this version. Davy and Micky's voices fit so well together. Love 'em. What's the name of this song?
I was behind Mickey and Davy in the blue top and curly hair shameful i was only 10

Great to see Arrow. Wasn't sure how such a key element would be presented in a musical of The Point.

Christ, between this and the Mr. Chow's clip, I've come to truly realize how being a celebrity must often suck.
Still, I always respected how the Monkees never ripped each other down (at least in public) like many ex-band mates. John and Paul, to name a few.

There's a reason these guys were chosen to be the Monkees. They are just so cool! (talented and well-souled)

I am 19 too, and I wish I could have grown up in the 60s, all of the best music came from then.

Okay, I'll be the first to point out the girl interviewer is Susan Tully, who went on to be Michelle Fowler in the BBC soap opera Eastenders.
