i hear people saying this, that the bench isnt a chest exercise.....then why are my pecs sore as hell after my bench day? usually more sore than my shoulders, and my triceps arent sore at all
@THEinspectigator because its a larger muscle group. take your quads and back etc. they get pretty sore after workouts, more so then triceps, biceps, shoulders etc. chest gets worked hard in the bench. but believe it or not its not the main pressing muscle. triceps would take that in my opinion. shoulders second, and lats and brachialis after that. forearms and chest help too

If you're having problems geting it out of "the hole", hitting your shoulders and lats more will help.
The chest really isn't a primary mover on the bench press, doing chest work won't really get your bench up.

okay bud, the chest IS a primary mover on the bench press, but if you do an ARCHED bench press, it's one of MANY primary movers.
