@statueman1000 greg still putting choons down in camberly surrey but as u say best disco in town apart from redbull in peckham on a monday night where greg also used play when life easier in them days?
Guys, I am feeling these comments too! We used to rock to this regularly in Augusta, Ga. back in '80 and '81. I'll bet I haven't heard this cut in over 25 years. Wow!...it brings back really good memories, including memories of buddies and family who have passed on. I can just see them rockin' to this on the dance floor.....peace : )
If you could do a back-flip on the dance floor in the 80's you were simply a God. I wanted to be a dancefloor God so I taught myself to do a back-flip. The moment came during this song, to do it at Rachaels in Basildon, Essex. I was surrounded by people cheering and clapping. Over I went...through the air, perfectly.....only to clip the chin of some blokes girlfriend!!! The funny bit was as she was holding her chin and he was consoling her they both yelled out..." Just keep dancing!!!" Priceless
Thank you so much...ain't heard this for donkeys...reminds me of getting the bus down to the Purple pussycat in central London, dancing all night then having to walk home as I missed the last bus...great days
I'm so digging the comments. Seems everybody has a vivid memory connected to this tune. I hadn't heard it in years and then they played it at my cousin's 53rd birthday in Brooklyn (time do fly!) We danced and sang the lyrics from some long forgotten memory of our younger days. I swear, we enjoyed that song as much last night as we did 30 odd years ago. "When you're making love to my mind it feels good, it feels good to meeeee!" Post hippie, all funky!
its funny that i never considered this "disco" (which i hated), but listening to it now, i guess it was actually disco. luv this cut and their "Checking You Out" as well.
This song was the bomb in Southern LA, East LA, the Westside and lets not forget the Harbor Area and last but not least the San Fernanondo Valley...The guys breaking out with their hush puppies shoes, starch 501 or corduroys. The Ladies, were looking gorgeous! Peace from The SF_LA!!
@nemosocal I TELL YOU WHAT ... THIS SONG IS AAAWWWWWEEESSSOOOMMMEEEEEE !!!! RIDING IN MY CAR WITH MY BOYS.. IT JUST DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS ON A SUMMER DAY... WHY CAN'T MUSIC BE A LITTLE MORE , YOU KNOW .....LIKE THIS ??????? MY DAUGHTERS EVEN LOVE THIS GROOVE XOX ---ALEX AND MADDY...LIL LEO
@orlandofoodvinoart I hear you!! When you have a chance, check out the video. The dancers in the background are funny. I enjoyed watching it over, over, and over again. She is Excellent!!!!
I left New York just before Disco crashed (summer '79), came back next year and hung out with some friends at a club in lower Manhattan called Tribeca and they were bangin' this. They were playing this in the South hard too. The DJ in that club had the crowd SWEATIN'!!!!!
@BruklynG Hey old school, I went to the Tribeca once, a multi level extravagenza, i thought I was at the colloseum. The highlight of that evening was seeing multiples of young ladies being danced/carried vertically above/through the crowd
One of my faves from that era. Came out just after the Disco crash. I prefer this full version over the instrumental version they tend to play too much.
I was 17 when this was first played in the `Place` Hanley. Tight yellow `Fu's jeans, red shirt - on the pull! .......Like it was only last week. Timeless tune

The first time I heard this joint I was in the Navy on one of a med-cruise and we went to Barcelona, Spain and went to this club named The Camelot. When we came in that joint we just started dancing. The flow in that club was so smooth and so funky it was as if I was dreaming. No bugs on the wall, everyone stayed on the floor the whole time we were there. Spaniards know how to get that shit in on the dance floor for real. Every time I hear this song it takes me back to that day.

I've just brought my tuntables up from the basement after years. All my vinyl too. This is one of the first tracks that I wantaed to listen to. Unfortunately I only have a 7" version on a compilation album. The 12" always eluded me so thanks for taking the time. Such a cool track.

@mackdaddyhustler If I could go to NJ or NY now, where would be the place I could go that gives me a little flavour of how it used to be? (uk) thanks x
Wow, amazing old song. I was just a little kid, but thre was this college station near where I lived in NYC that used to play this old R&B and disco, This was one of my favorites from back then. I think it was WSOU or something.
This is a crime!! This is the best dance ever made!! I come home with a girl and play this and thats it!! Please somebody get this video back on. Please...............
This song is probably one of the most unknown but recognizable "Roller Boogie" tracks ever produced. From houseparties and clubs in The East Coast to roller rinks & Venice Beach weekend skatejams, this cut STILL goes hard whenever I play it and I am always in the mood to move sumethin after hearing it. Truly a dance classic. Sho' Nuff!
@anacondanoir Filled every club and party up and down the UK for months. Bangin tune for skating on the rinks in South London with your girl (or girls)!! Classic
Streatham Ice Skating Rink!!! Dancing on Ice for true!! Those were the days - if you weren't there then you were at Cats Whiskers or Porkys. I remember DJ Skully and all them men. Good Times!!!! Check out We Love Soul for the memories.
Listen for great music like this on a new radio station called "OffTheCharts" - featuring 70's (and some 80's) lost hits and chart wonders!

Iam thrilled at finding this grat old tune! Here's to January's,Fudgies1&2,Hoops,Marty&Lenny's,The Milkyway,The City,The Second Floor, and ofcourse Peachtree's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Westchester in da house!
An exellent track i love it!!!! rite now i'm listening it and always for life time i love this song, is a monster one!! But this theme is from 1978 not 80's at all,but what the hell let's the disco era rule FOREVER!!! Dedicated to you my love Adriana Lima (what u did to me, sweetie pie I LOVE YOU!!!!!!
I can remember the first time I heard this song! My brother had one of those 80's boom boxes with the huge woofer, it was a jvc. Man, my brother would play this song all day long! I heard it so much that I fell in love with that falsetto voice in this song that get's your attention. It's been 20 years trying to find this song until I heard it one day on XM RADIO. Whover uploaded this sog, BIG UPS TO YOU! THANKS A MILLI! f
I'd never thought I would enjoy a static shot of a record spinning, but this is one of those exceptions. Not only is it way cool to finally find the 7-minute version of this song online without an illegal download, but a great sounding one at that.
Yeah, this was my 1980 jam along with the S.O.S. Band's "Take Your Time...." Rollerskating as a geeky 12 year old to this song can't be better!!
I remember doing a show at Old Westbury College in NY where they stole the show from S.O.S. Band and Hamilton Bohannon....Nelson PR, DJ PLeasure, and DJ SPider set 'em up and they then tore it down.

Wow....I have to agree that this was one of the favorite funk songs of the 80's.

Wow, amazing old song. I was just a little kid, but thre was this college station near where I lived in NYC that used to play this old R&B and disco, This was one of my favorites from back then. I think it was WSOU or something.

Sho' Nuff!

Go to Live365.com, type OFFTHECHARTS in the Search box and click on the station logo. The audio stream should begin. Become a VIP member and listen commercial free!
This song is being featured this week!
Again, thanks for posting!

THANKS A MILLI! f

@lardsah LP = 'long playing " record albums. So, it is an extended singles LP. lol!
shjtyu 1 year ago 2
@lardsah All LP means is = Long Play. It's an extended track pressed on an LP record. So, never say it's not an LP, okay? :)
shjtyu 11 months ago
@lardsah Hey, its vinyl and it could be have been long playing.

@weezlebum147 Try Amazon or EBay. I've actually found a few of what I'd call the classics on these sites.
Good Luck.

dON'T GET NO BETTER THAN THIS!!!!!
fontinelli147 1 year ago
