  • No problem. The servos are all Futaba s3150 digitals, nice and powerful, and plenty thin enough to mount in the wing. The powere system is a Hacker B50 11L coupled to a 6.7:1 gearbox and either a 16x10", 17x11 or 18x12" prop. The speed controller is a Castle Phoenix 80, and the batteries are a 6s pack of Rhino 2150mAh cells.

The plane is actually pretty much written off now. Flutter on a high speed dive = centre wing section exploded, outers depart, remains hit ground hard. Good times!

  • @bigandy9 That's a shame mate looks like it was a lot of fun

  • Any chance you could post on here what equipment it has been kitted out with?

    Speedy, motor and batteries?

    Servo's

  • I like it, debating weather to modify my Calypso Contest to an electric, or buy one of these instead.

  • It is actually quite tame really! I'm only pushing about 1kW or so through it on the climbs, so it does like to go up fairly quickly! The all up weight is still fairly low though, and this means that it will slow down to a crawl, especially with a bit of camber dialled in!

Methinks a bit more ballast on board (bigger batteries perhaps) would get the speed in the low passes up nicely :)

  • Fast plane!
