  • it doesnt matter wicth way you lay it,what matters is how you take care of it

  • i keep mine horizontal cuz its actually a better idea cuz mine is 3 years old and still works it has never ever been played vertical also its an elite and i think those seemt o work the best cuz the whites ones seem to breat alot and the slims just fucking suck i dont hear to many bad things about the elite version

  • hey mater your so rich you have ps3 wii and xbox i have only xbox and wii gimme you ps3 ya'll

  • I prefer the horizontal position. (THATS WHAT SHE SAID!!)

  • the best way to lay your xbox is flipping it 360 °

  • Your voice sounds like crap..

  • he lives in georgia or alabama lol hahaha

  • there were a lot of red rings because people were too careless for its ventilation. such as a small place. the fan exhaust too close to a wall. putting it on a carpet which can be very dusty. and no proper cleaning. these things did not help the already poor ventilation system.

  • Xbox vertical or horizontal what a stupid question how about out the fucking window?

  • forza

  • i have mine horizontal

  • Mine is vertical as the left side gets hot and mine is a jasper it also quieter and has not much air even coming out the vent anyway and it is jasper elite so it doesnt really matter it never gets rrod or rarely gets rrod

  • redneck

  • you don't need the Wii horizontal. The fan is in the back unlike the 360 and it doesn't use as much power as the PS3.

  • @mudkiprules4 The wii uses a wii amount of power.

  • @matt78tv actually, yes it does. It's very environmentally friendly.

  • @mudkiprules4 the xbox fan is in the back idiot.

  • Horizontal... Keeps ana/hana chip flat (which aint clamped onto the board or anything) which gets really hot with GPU heat, resulting in E74.

Two units of mine got E74. Both were vertical, one failed 3 times. Reflowed ANA/HANA chip and kept horizontal. Been fine ever since. 18 months ago...

  • That's what she said>.>

  • your system broke because it was about half an inch away from the wall. Good job on taking care of your xbox.

  • horizontal

  • I've had my original Xbox 360... (yes the old one even before the chrome disk drive..) for 4 years? Not a single problem ... EVER.. I don't think the positioning matters, but I don't doubt that one of you guys will ask me which way I keep mine; Horizontal.

  • Flat

  • Yeah I've noticed that having it in the horizontal position is overall better than having it vertical because when its vertical, I only been using it for two hours then it overheated, compared to horizontal where I was able to use it for basically the whole 12 hours im awake

  • the only problem having it sit vertically.. is if you've got annoying, rambunctious, faggot kids running around it... they bump into the system with a disc spinning inside and shit goes south

  • English please

  • I kept my Xbox in the horizontal position and I got the Red Ring of Death after 5 months because of Hard Drive Crash, and when I got it back (it was still under warranty) I turned it vertically and I never had a problem since.

  • now if ya'll excuse me im gonna go take a bath in the bed of my truck.

  • I like mine perpendicular.

  • vertically i have problems putting the game discs in, and when its horizontal and i put in the game then move it slowly to vertical, the games got scratched, so horizontal can get overheating faster, however vertical can have your discs scratched easier, so overall, its a no win situation, unless u use a fan to cool down the heating, then horizontal is preferred

  • difference between microsofts xbox 360 and sony playstation:

xbox breaks down quicker, but you sure as hell can't expect a new playstation from sony when it happens to your playstation

  • @kurosakiguido I was in walmart today and saw they had removed the slim 360 kiosk which I figured had broken. I played the ps3 slim and tried out motorstorm apocolypse which was awesome. I was hoping my slim halo reach console would not break but after seeing the walmart one was gone I now am not so hopeful.

  • @matt78tv Yeah but if you compare an xbox with a slut, you know one thing:

A slut being used in Walmart by over 100 different people each day, has more diseases than a slut you got at home ;) Just saying that the chance of your xbox breaking are quite low, and if it does happen, Microsoft just replaces it, and if it's a special edition which isn't sold anymore, they repair it.

But with the new system, there has not been a rrod reported.

  • @kurosakiguido but for $129 you sure as hell can expect a new playstation alot quicker than you can a free xbox. It's all about quality time. I'd rather pay $129 for a new playstation and receive it in a week than not pay for a new new xbox and have to wait 6 months before i get another one. It sucks to be a Microsoft fan huh?

  • if you put vertical and it breaks down, try horizontal. If it still breaks down while horizontal, try flipping it upside down. Just a suggestion...................

  • red necks dont know shit dont listen

  • Upside down diagonal to the left works the best

  • wth lol

  • It's obvious that the horizontal position is better. You can see the gray grills on both sides and if you put it vertically, one of them will be blocked.

I only see the red lights happening for those who play 15 hours a day. I have my XBOX for 6 years now and it did fail on its 14th month. But Microsoft replaced it for me free of charge.

I hate MS but they really did a good customer service on that one.

  • The Slim doesn't have this issue.

  • when i put my 360 horizontal it overheated and got the ring of death.

  • Xbox360 = Horizontal

PS3 = Vertical, to avoid YLOD (two of my friend got it because of it, I did not)

Wii = I have it vertically...

  • u sound like forest gump

  • Xbo !

  • You can feel the air cummin' in righ' hurr.

    :)

  • I put it vertically and it broke my fallout 3 :(

  • @TheAirsoftBoy7557 sue ms for iit

  • @TripDaRipper no not that big of a deal

  • @TheAirsoftBoy7557 lol, ok when they break your mw2, fable 2, halo 3, and halo 2, remember, i warned you

  • @TheAirsoftBoy7557 did you turn it verticaly while it was still on?

  • @1997skaterboi No I turned it, put in the game and then the game was almost broken in half.

  • @TheAirsoftBoy7557 O well that crap sucks

  • Bogan..

  • You can get a usb powered fan stand that fits the bottom of the console, if the console is placed vertically.

  • I always had my 360 in a Verticle way. until it fell over while i was trying to grab something, Never putted it in Verticle ever again.

  • @Evilhearthed i did that to a friend. We heard some weird noise, ejected the game and there was a scratch all the way around cod4. It wasnt playable anymore.....

  • I hav no idea wat he said...

  • Xbo 360? "you stupid hill billy you've been in more farm animals than purina"

  • @kematian896 fuck you

  • xbox 360 rednick

  • im sure when people seen the wii horizantol they exited this video lol

  • Xbo 380. The fag brother of the Xbox 360.

  • horizotal ofcourse , around the laser is a ring of rubber and it will ware down if you put him vertical and will scratch your cd's over time

  • Just put it diagonal, it will work perfectly.

  • Red Neck lol

  • Eu deixo o meu XBOX 360 na Horizonta (deitado) o meu XBOX 360 é Jasper 250 gb edição especial Fina Fantasy XIII

  • Your voice is awesome...

  • Forrest Gump Voice !

  • horizontal if it falls over the game in it will break

    happend to me

  • haha "u need to keap itt whore-iz-zon-tal"

  • haha xbo its xbox

  • after i turned it hurusontal

  • Keep it like this if you want your brand new disks to be destoryed within a week :D

seriously... i got halo reach.. for a week or so i had it verticle.. tuen i read some dumbass over the internet say horizontal was the best way... so i turn it horizontal annnnnd 2 weeks later... disk is unreadable.

  • @MrAxemana FINALLY someone had the same problem as me.

  • in soviet russia xbox turns you horizontal

  • horizontal

  • any position is good but once you have the positon you want make sure you keep it that way because if you switch like i did problems happened so once you select the postion stick with it

  • ps3 is the best position!!

  • forest gump

  • Larry the cable guy????

  • @EquilibriumGaming i belive it my xbox is horizontal

  • vertical

  • Comment removed

  • Hm...on second thought after reading his update I'm going to keep my new 360 standing. Had at least one friend who layed theirs down and reported overheating and other problems. I just have to make sure to cover the top of it when not in use to keep dust out. Never had any probs with my old 360 keeping it vertical, until dust got in and caused my disk drive to be stubborn after 2 years.

  • @PalaceOfExile Had my Xbox since December 2007, never once got red rings/overheating problems, etc. It's still in great condition, haven't had one problem with it, and its been laying horizontal its whole life.

  • I have the exact same shit dude in my house

The game systems and the pioneer made for the xbox 360

    We are alike

  • man first day i had my xbox it fell over and fried my copy of halo 3

  • there is no difrence cause theres holes every were on it

  • On HDD is the best

  • Nigger voice detected

  • When it's vertical, especially on carpet, the air intake is greatly reduced, meaning lower volume of cool air inside the box. The xbox has the most vent holes on the opposite end of the hard drive. If you stand it vertical, you block that end and are cutting off most of the cool air getting in to the box. Temps go up, thermal paste breaks down, solder connections crystallize and freezing and RROD happen eventually.

On the down side of horizontal, more dust gets in, more cleaning needed.

  • Woooooooooooweeee I just bought myself a Xbox 360 Bubba!

  • @matt78tv your xbox wont go on if you do that

  • Vertical gave me RRoD.

  • @RickTheStickman2 RRoD has comed twice in vertical but still works and has never been fixed. =)

  • @RickTheStickman2 RRod has nothing to do with it being placed vertical. It's all about heat buildup from too many components in too small a package. Although the guts of the machine were reworked to increase airflow and reduce motherboard melting due to graphic chip overheating, there is still a 15-20% failure rate. Sooner or later for many. Mainly, don't play like an asshole and keep your equipment correct

  • @brick0rockwell

I had a 360 for 1 year, and it got RRoD when vertical.

I have my current 360 (NOT JASPER), and no problems, horizontal.

  • i had my 360 verticle for like 3 yrs and then i moved and had to have on its side and it got RROD in like a month

  • my 360 is 5 yrs old and ive had it vertical all the time ive had it. then a few days ago it got rrod!!! froze in a multiplayer game of CoD world at war!!

  • Hey, i have an idea. why cant microsoft build a xbox two times as large, but NEVER breaks down. I would say i would go with the bigger one.

  • My console is in vertical position for 2 years and has never given me problems. has never failed for red lights and no game has been frozen.

  • @zunderberg Yeah now I think vertical is the best for sure. Plus I now have a large enough hdd to load the games on and I think that saves a lot of heat from the dvd drive constantly trying to load data from the spinning disc and plus it sounds bad.

  • @zunderberg yeah I had it 1 and half years in vertical position and it still works like new =)

  • @zunderberg my elite gets warm is this normal ??

  • @zunderberg horizontaal is better

  • @zunderberg it depends if u have the origanal one i dont mean like the xbox 360 slim i mean like sum r different from others so ya

  • thank ya stranger im gonna turn me my xbox horizontily from now on

  • Best position? I can't answer that question. Why? Because i you put it horizontally, it gets heat up. But if you put it vertically, your games start to freeze very often, although the console will be much cooler.

I HATE FREAKING MICROSOFT SO MUCH!

  • what about the game falling out and putting ring arround it

  • Momotude, i have just one thing to say about your comment... Lol ;P

  • yal done got a done 360 down i redneckastan? das just the done darnest thang i heard sice that dern done redneck from hanna don montana said that dang done diggy wat????????????

  • @markjokestar1 Shutup ps3 fanboy, before your head goes in trash.

  • lmao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!XD i love your voice

  • vertical

  • Thanks for the info, now get back inside the L4D2 disc!

  • it doesnt matter which way round. i guess you could rip your disks when its horizontal, but then when you play them from the HDD it really wouldnt matter. ive had mine both and it doesnt matter. just dont move it with a disk in!

  • Ok, I'll definitely keep my XBO horizontal.

  • thank you hill billy

  • @SABERDOG1000 f u im a red neck to

  • @h68819 Then i feel very sorry 4 u :(

  • @SABERDOG1000 don't worry about it... all people talk like that in Alabama

  • your greddy for having all 3 consoles

  • Hmmm Horizontal or vertical? I know! That trash :D

  • i used to keep my xbox vertical. that us until i looked at all my games and they got a ring around them and started to freeze. i wouldnt recommend vertical usage.

  • ur dumb to make a wii stand horizontal u stupid hillbilly

  • @SuperBasketball98 dude your a gay hillbilly

  • @SuperBasketball98 my wii is horizontal

  • some ppl say that if you put ur 360 vertical it scratches your discs.. iv'e never tried this.

som other ppl say that it most likely is to overheat if it's horizontally,k but this i've neither tried.. so.. if you are careful enough you kan keep it either way :)

  • Kinda sucks you have to keep it horizontal. :\

I can put my ps3 whatever direction I want which makes placement a lot easier.

  • vertical looks way better :D

  • @xy274 Yeah... But if I flip my 360 to vertical and then put a disc in, it scratches my disc D:

  • Nice setup there, that wii must make a good coaster

  • @thgeine yeaa but putting something on the xbox pressures the fans and thus heating up the xbox more. sooo yur gonna take a visit to RROD :)

  • isnet it kinda obvious

  • hey musicbeast stfu and listen to what mendigo445 said

  • how bout yo go pick me up in ur pick em up truck and we can talk bout how ur talkin bout how the air flows thru the bottom and ur xbox is off so yea u fricken red neck

  • Another real important reason you need to have ur 360 horizontally is cuz if u don't, it will burn rings into ur disc which keeps you from being able to play some material on the game. i.e. campaign levels, multiplayer maps, bonus modes, mini-games, etc. I used to have my xbox standing vertically and my COD 4 game cancelled out 3/4 of the campaign missions.

  • @Midgetdancer123 B.S. This is the thing the XBOX360 Agent told. He doesn't know why people keep saying this. The system was meant to be either way, That's why they advice you if you like to play lots of games buy one with a bigger HD so you can install the games onto the HD, so that the XBOX runs much smoother and the disc last longer. If you do that and place the XBOX vertically it will run much more smoother and less hotter because air is coming out from all 4 sides, while horizontally it

  • @Midgetdancer123 gets hot on the bottom plus, plus the table where you have gets hot to which makes it get even hotter on the bottom and on the left side where the disc drive is. I happened to try this out and he was darn right. My xbox has 120gb and all my games are stored on the HD and it's standing vertically, and the same goes for my PS3. Ppl just love to talk without actually looking at what they are doing wrong or analyzing the situation first. Some ppl even told me a xbox rep told me

  • @Midgetdancer123 told me is better horizontally. I spoke to over 3 reps and they told me either way it does not makes a different if you move the xbox while it's playing the game of course it will get scratch no matter what anyone says, unless you have it install to the HD which is the best way of keeping them. Unless you got kids or animal dont place it vertically on the floor only in a high place, but people are so slow that, you tell them that and they go out and make a whole another story.

  • Which is the best you ask?

    Up the Production Line's ass.

  • you dumbass. it is souposed to stay cool in hte back. i had mine down at first but then mine wouldnt read disks and i was ganna send it in to get fixex and my friend just told me to turn it up sideways and guess what.... IT WORKED

  • are you an imbred hillbilly?

  • @FudgeMonsta how prejudiced is that? just because he's got a southern accent doesn't mean he's ghetto or inbreeds. it just means he lives in the south, nothing else. you don't even need to live in the south to have an accent, you just need to be of southern descent or have lived in the south for a long time.

  • Xbox 360 = Vertical

PS3 = Horizontal or Vertical, optional

    Wii = Vertical

  • Less likely for disk to fall out of the tray horizontal.

  • you're an idiot. Worst and most inconclusive study ever.

  • @gbmaxse troll, ps3 user, and a fucker who doesn't know squat.

  • I noticed when you have your Xbox 360 in a vertical position sometimes the cd tray gets stuck

  • and ps3 is still gay ,,,,,,,,,,,,xbox 360 still takes over

  • @yunmyke88 and xbox is still gay.........ps3 still takes over

  • @camvvti get off xbox videos.

  • @camvvti ps3 is still gay.........Xbox 360 still takes over

  • @RoadkillDirector no, no it does not its a cheap delapedated white dell computer

  • @RoadkillDirector you are totaly right

  • @RoadkillDirector no, both systems are good :\

  • WRAP IT IN A TOWEL!

  • hill billy

  • he lives in texas lol

  • I want to get XBOX 360 ( i cant buy a PS3 ). I want to play 4-5h / day. It would get me a RROD this way? Also i put it horizontal(as my ps2)

  • @cobrexu

I just got my 360 a few weeks ago, not the new one either. My 360 is horizontal and working great, no red rings or any errors other than the occasional disk reading error which is fixed by cleaning the disk in most cases. Just make sure the room you're in has good air conditioning. Whenever I play my 360 I make sure my AC is on.

  • i have everything i need for the 360 so im not getting the slim. a 120 gb, xbox live 12 monthes, 2 controllers (wireless) white and black, xbox elite, 20000 ms points, the 20 dollar fan cooler thing, 5 year waranty, to memory card 30 games, headset, and xbox live cam.

  • xbox 360 contains pure epicness suicide is advised to any ps3 fanboy watchin this

  • I have mines horizontal, JUST INCASE IT FALLS OVER AND SRATCHES A 60$ CD!!!

  • 3 things that can happen to a 360 that stands up

    1) it falls over

    2) gravity pulls the disc towards the disc tray guards that are facing the ground, increasing the chances of the disc becoming off-centered in the tray, eventually causing scratches

    3) hot air rises, so less air makes it down to the bottom of the structure (where the important components and fans are), causing increased and quicker overheating

  • /you sound like forst gump

  • You Talk like Bubba J, the puppet of Jeff Dunham

  • @jalani316

A website conducted some thermal imaging on the PS3, and they have found that keeping the PS3 system in a horizontal manner, actually keeps the system cooler.

  • u need to keep ur konsooooles and in the horizontal pOsition

  • pahahaha u have evry console..... i worry for hill-billies

  • its dizzy!

  • its made for standing vertical

  • @thedest1ny

It's made to be placed either way. It works better horizontal but it does look better vertical.

  • neither when its in the corner lol
