Well I guess everyone knows the story behind Freddy's physical appearance, but the reason why he became a child molester and murderer...I'd assume he had to go through some kind of similar circumstances as a child as well, which would explain his hate of being a child or a teenager. they do that in one of the sequels called "dream warriors" where deeper sleepers can fight back against Freddy using their dreams against him. However some people have dreams but can't see them. I have dreams all the time but i don't "see" them (my subconscious sees them and not me) and I only rarely actually view them consciously (the ones I do however are incredibly vivid and almost lifelike)
