Not even the best in Texas, not by a damn sight. DPS is a punchline to organized crime, notably the numerous Mexican drug outfits that have made themselves right at home in our state.

But if I need someone to go out write tickets to senior citizens driving on I-10, then yes, DPS is the best at that.

I think ct110spitfire needs to do some research on Texas DPS. For one, how many people do you know that actually call in and say, your trooper gave me a ticket, but he did a good job! Yeah right!! For two its a bunch of yuppies that probably deserve what that got! And last but not least in this career field you aint doing your job if you don't get complaints!

Where did you get your research from? I know of some very good Texas troopers that would put their lives on the line four you. You can't judge everyone for the actions of a few.

@ct110spitfire I live in Texas sir and I have been pulled over by them. I can say they do there jobs are are some of the most disciplined and understanding police officers in the state of Texas. In-fact I am getting my criminal Justice degree and I hope to Join the Texas state troopers.

To be a texas trooper you actually only need an IQ of 75.  They will reject you if its over 105.
