@DavitzHelsing I own both cars, a 2007 Dodge Charger SRT8, a 2006 Dodge Charger R/T Daytona (Top Banana), and a 1998 Toyota Supra and Supra's have broken in 1/4 mile records that Charger's can only dream of. They are both nice cars but the driver of that Supra also couldn't drive for crap. He should have been even with that SRT8, a Supra is stock 330hp for my 98' and a SRT8 is 425 but it weighs 600lbs more so hp wise they are about dead even due to power to weight. Supra lacked the driver mod

My post clearly states that the Charger is fast for what it is. A 4000 lb brick of a family sedan that stock for stock can run the 1/4 close with a Supra as you have said. And the thing about those 1/4 mile records is pretty simple, the supra is way lighter and has better aero ...as my original post states, you're comparing a 2 door sports car to a 4 door family sedan.

@skatepunkzero Actually Gas Motorsport's 6.8 second Supra is driven on the street to the events they attend. You can compare all you want but all you need to compare is a Inline 6 to a V8 and you'll notice the Supra has more hp per cylinder than a V8.
@darksniper1982 I just looked up gas motorsports supra it only ran in the 7s on street tires which is good but not as good as what the NMCA runs. It had to use slicks, and race gas to run in the 6s unlike the NMCA Pro Street cars which are 100% street legal and use pump gas and race tires. Also with the Supra parts cost 5 times as much as parts for a Big Block Chevy. You can compare all you want but all you need to compare is parts cost, which Muscle always wins. Finally, only took Dodge 14 years to catch up to the 14 year old Supra engine. Some people also forget that the Supra does have 2 less cylinders and no "hot damn" hemi tech. Stock for stock the Charger will beat it. Mods is a different story depends on whose pockets are deeper but even then drop the 7.3L 440 and Twin turbo it and the Charger would still beat it. Can even switch the RWD to AWD if you have pockets that deep.
There are many variables that determine the outcome of a drag race. It couldve been driver error or maybe the fact that the Supra in question was out powered by about 100-120 more horses and significantly more torque, if they were both stock.

I own 2 Supra's (a 98 TT and a 93 TT) both are single turbo converted, my 98 is 861whp, my 93 is 1173whp. The TT MKIV Supra's have a very distinct rear wing, the N/A has a MUCH different looking wing look it up on wikipedia for yourself. So a N/A V8 beat a N/A I6, not a huge deal.

Chargers make a lot of torque down low stock from factory. I don't know anything about the supra and I don't care to know anything about it. The Charger clearly had more money dumped into then the Supra so it won. Its no different then if the Supra would of won and people would of been bragging about it.

Im an SRT fan, but the supra should have one. During burnout it sounds like a decent sized turbo, it definately should have one. The srt8 very heavy too.
@Cenon2007 Are you sure? Im a big mopar fan, but i think you are giving it a little too much credit. Last i checked they were mid-upper 13's. The srt8 is a very heavy car, i think with a little diet it could run 12's stock, high 12's. But i've never driven one, im just going off of reviews. Although they did bump up the power of the 2011 models, maybe they run 12's, I couldnt say.
@RandySRT Depending on where you're from and the conditions of the track. Where i live thres a few stock ones at my local track that run 13.2's all day. But i live quite high above sea level.

You are comparing a V8 to a Inline 6 with less than 1/2 the displacement that can still hang with V8's all day long. And who gives a shit about NMCA, I never said I was a "professional driver". The Gas Motorsport's Supra runs a small turbo and their engine is only stroked to a 3.2L not a 3.4L this year they are going for a bigger turbo and engine stroke to compete with Mike Moran's 5 second Turbocharged run.

@skatepunkzero and fyi those older NMCA car's are only street legal because they are classic cars that are exempt to EMISSIONS TESTING! if they had to have cat converters to be "street legal" they would all be illegal as hell, and they would be slow as balls because the exhaust wouldn't escape fast enough. Being street legal on a legal loop hole doesn't make it street legal.

@skatepunkzero Actually Gas Motorsport's 6.8 second Supra is driven on the street to the events they attend. You can compare all you want but all you need to compare is a Inline 6 to a V8 and you'll notice the Supra has more hp per cylinder than a V8.

@darksniper1982 I just looked up gas motorsports supra it only ran in the 7s on street tires which is good but not as good as what the NMCA runs. It had to use slicks, and race gas to run in the 6s unlike the NMCA Pro Street cars which are 100% street legal and use pump gas and race tires. Also with the Supra parts cost 5 times as much as parts for a Big Block Chevy. You can compare all you want but all you need to compare is parts cost, which Muscle always wins. Sorry the Supra is not a dragcar

So please don't compare Charger's to Supra's its not even a close comparison. Finally, only took Dodge 14 years to catch up to the 14 year old Supra engine. Some people also forget that the Supra does have 2 less cylinders and no "hot damn" hemi tech. Good job Dodge, better late than never... wait.... Lexus LFA? Actually, lets compare the 93 Toyota Supra to a 14 year older Charger. Yup, Supra has 2 more cylinders and was newer, but you didn't see people making a big deal about it then. Guess when a Japanese car sets the bar, you will take any win that you can get...

Stock for stock the Charger will beat it. Mods is a different story depends on whose pockets are deeper but even then drop the 7.3L 440 and Twin turbo it and the Charger would still beat it. Can even switch the RWD to AWD if you have pockets that deep.

There are many variables that determine the outcome of a drag race. It couldve been driver error or maybe the fact that the Supra in question was out powered by about 100-120 more horses and significantly more torque, if they were both stock.

They forget that the cars in these vids are most likely fully built, sometimes, have crate engines that aren't original engines and have a couple thousand dollars which would make ANY car fast enough to beat another one less built. @HaloHamstur eh? are you serious? Charger SRT-8's run a 13.4 second 1/4 mile stock, with a 6.1L V8 and 425hp. Supra MKIV's run a 13.3 second 1/4 mile at 325hp.... So a faster car with less displacement and less horsepower does a faster 1/4 mile time. So why are you bragging? Don't get me wrong I love Charger's I own a 2006 R/T Daytona (Top Banana) with a Procharger pushing just over 700whp and I love the car... But either of my Supra's would WALK my Charger any day of the week with little effort

I own 2 Supra's (a 98 TT and a 93 TT) both are single turbo converted, my 98 is 861whp, my 93 is 1173whp. The TT MKIV Supra's have a very distinct rear wing, the N/A has a MUCH different looking wing look it up on wikipedia for yourself. So a N/A V8 beat a N/A I6, not a huge deal.

@darksniper1982 I'm not a fake ass motor head first of all. I own a 1978 Volarie Roadrunner 318 3 speed with overdrive car (yeh I know nothing special) and a 2000 Mustang GT. Chargers make a lot of torque down low stock from factory. I don't know anything about the supra and I don't care to know anything about it. The Charger clearly had more money dumped into then the Supra so it won. Its no different then if the Supra would of won and people would of been bragging about it.

@renster143 Dodges have brakes, and the gas pedal comes back up when you take your foot off. I just traded off a 79 Dodge pickup with a 318 a couple months ago and it was running well, and the body had less rust than a 5 year old Toyota.

@TheBeer274 wow a recall on a peice of shit prius big whoop who buys priuses any way besides epa fags, name one recall on a toyota truck besides on a few for frame rust that toyota fixed by buying back all the trucks that had bad frame rot, i had a 87 truck and a 95 and 98 tacoma none of them had a spot of rust on them, and all ran like champs with over 250000 miles besides the 95 witch i still own.

Im an SRT fan, but the supra should have one. During burnout it sounds like a decent sized turbo, it definately should have one. The srt8 very heavy too.

@Cenon2007 Are you sure? Im a big mopar fan, but i think you are giving it a little too much credit. Last i checked they were mid-upper 13's. The srt8 is a very heavy car, i think with a little diet it could run 12's stock, high 12's. But i've never driven one, im just going off of reviews. Although they did bump up the power of the 2011 models, maybe they run 12's, I couldnt say.

@RandySRT Depending on where you're from and the conditions of the track. Where i live thres a few stock ones at my local track that run 13.2's all day. But i live quite high above sea level.
