Mirelle Mathieu is an excellent singer, I enjoy her very much. BUT - she sings this song (Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien) with her mouth, Edith Piaf sang straight from her heart; Piaf's version can break your heart.

She can sing very very well, but... while she has a powerful voice, she sounds too sweet and innocent to sing this song. It's like a 10 year old singing "My Way". Edith sounded like she had been around and had a lot to regret if she chose to regret. I could listen to this version all day and not be moved by it. On the other hand, I just Edith sign the initial "Non" and I'm reaching for the tissues.
