  • He talks like an expert, bu he doesn't play a shit.

  • Helpful review, thanks!

  • I have an american fender strat bought it today all single coils when i plugged into my half stack amp the sound is not that heavy like my gibson studio... Is this pickup humbucker made for rock thicker sound?

  • your not good at guitar so i cant take you seriously

  • 2nd string was out of tune x:

  • ooh, this isn't about installing the humbucker.

  • Thanks for posting this video.

  • I just put a SD 59 in my bridge and a SHR1b hot rail in my strat, but kept the middle pup the original Tex mex and the difference is like night and day !!! I wish I had done this a long time ago. I had to go with the stack in front as my MIM 2006 was only routed for HSS. I would have liked to have gone with a SH-8 in the neck and a SH-15 in the bridge. I love the new sound though !!

  • Is that a valvestate vc30r amp?

  • Im going to get these for my tele :)

  • @Ajt8000 dude that would sound good! ;)

  • this is a good video shutup haters i would be glad to laugh at u wen u make a guitar video!!!!!

  • is the reverb off your amp or the room???? lol

  • Attn all posters: Don't care what you play or how well you play it, just Please Tune Your Guitars.

  • awesome vid man thanks. Off to buy me some of these

  • Cool video thanks man

  • Hello,

I have a Washburn Maverick which I love the action and playability of, do you think this pickup would drop into that?

    Cheers

  • Do you mind wearing some shoes?

  • Try the SD cool rails in the neck

  • Haha good one:)

  • hi there ive got a question. i am thinking about installing a humbucker in place of my bridge pick up. i was wondering how can i get my scratchplate to fit again? obviously a single coil is coming out and a humbucker is going in but i dont know how my scratchplate will fit back on? have you got any advice? should i cut out the extra piece on my scratch plate or can you buy ones to fit properly??

  • @M3TALH3AD923 oh, did elementary school let out early today? Sounds like you're cranky; you may need a nap.

  • @sumitsumit haha usually I just watch guitar players to hear them play, not think about gay sex...

  • @sumitsumit dont mind these guys

  • @M3TALH3AD923 y post non sense didnt ur mama ever tell u...... shut ur fucking mouth if u dont have ne thing nice to say!!!!

  • @M3TALH3AD923 Man, your an asshole.

“Faggot, I hate the way you talk”??? What the fuck does that mean? He can’t control how his voice sounds.

    Your an idiot.

  • I like position 2.

  • that's what im gonna do, install a humbucker in my strat.. but i don't know if i can make it cause my strat isn't a fender

  • @MetalUpYourAssFuck should work fine on a non-fender; just be careful about the wiring. Most strat copies have wiring very similar to the fender.

  • @MetalUpYourAssFuck Ten years ago I put 3 (2 neck and 1 Bridge) Hot Rails in a Stage Guitars Strat copy they worked great and still are working.

  • @azkiid guess what? i've just got a new Les Paul with modded pickups. it has 2 (neck and bridge) B.C. Rich humbuckers.. sounds great

  • It's kind of strange to watch a some one play left handed.

  • very good, but i saw that the model name is actually SHR-1, not sr-1.

  • Whats the song called that you played? (with the looper)

  • @BennyCrap just my own little jam - I haven't named it :)

  • hi Id like to put this pickup to my lefty stratocaster...my question is Do I need a special pickup for the left handed strat??

  • @inflamed nope - that's a lefty strat you're seeing in my video - I'm a lefty player as well. Just be careful when you're wiring it up, since the diagrams assume you have a right-handed guitar.

  • @sumitsumit leftys <3

  • Hi dude...I have a strat but I want to change the single coil in bridg position because it doesnt work well with distortions, but I love the clean tones from the single coil in neck position, so I´m thinking to replace with a jb jr or a hot rails, and yes the distortion is going to sound amazing but what about the clen tones? can i change the original clena tones from the single coil in neck position?

    Thanks

  • guitarra desafinada!!!

  • ok heres my story, i have an ibanez rg series but i want this pickup .....would it fit in every position?? it is like 2 pickups together then a lonely one then 2 together where could this precious fit.....i want like a dave murray type of sound.........you better know whos dave murray.....jjejej please answer

  • can i have that picture on the wall

  • @shayne202 :) That's Karol Fern Sample's "The Springmaker." It's just a signed print, but I did buy it from the artist directly - it's the first piece of art i bought after moving to Seattle. I believe you can order prints from her via her website.

  • how many watts is your amp

  • @misfitkid66 That's just a 15 Watt Marshall practice amp.

  • Cool!

I'm having my Mexican made Fender fixed up with better pickups, and I was told it would sound a whole lot better. This seems like proof it will.

I was told several times Mexican made Fenders are inferior to US made ones, but it seems like the electric parts are the main reason for that.

  • @BadReligion1994 Yes, I think you're right. I love the feel of the Strat fingerboard, and I think once you update the pickups (or at least one pickup), you end up with a much more versatile guitar. I personally would prefer a Mexi strat with one or two pickups replaced with humbuckers vs. an American strat; then again, if you're really going for the Clapton sound, you can replace the pickups with classic single coils for far less than the price of the American Strat :)

  • @BadReligion1994 I installed a Dimarzio Super Distortion S in my Mexican Tele and it's an amazing difference.

  • @BadReligion1994 are you gonna go see bad religion on tour this fall

  • @nymetsrock I'd really like to!!! If only my concert funds weren't so low, but hopefully the next time they're in the NY metropolitan area.

  • hey i just got the hot rails for the brige and I want to ask you someting? I'm having here some realy messy string noise wen im not playing and not toching strings... can you say if that is natural because of the high out put?

  • @RTWrename If you're playing though a clean channel on your amp, you shouldn't be getting that string noise - it sounds like you may have a grounding problem, even through the seymour duncan. You should probably open it up again and make sure everything's properly connected. On a heavily distorted channel/effect, though, you'll get string noise all over the place.

  • @RTWrename had the same issue, but only when i was using distortion pedals... a boss ns-2 noise suppressor will fix that though. very important pedal if you use a lot of distrortion/overdrive. hope it helps.

  • Thanks dude, awesome to hear. I have a hot rails in the bridge of my tele and it's great for high output noodling! Great Demo!

  • @youneedmorecowbell>You asshole!

    Man,you're just a moron!

Go insult someone that deserves you, pussy!

  • thx for the info!!!!! Great vid!!

  • if u play mostly clean/overdriven tones how come u got this pickup? its more suited for heavy stuff.

  • does the hot rail sound different from a normal-size humbucker?

  • The title here is a bit misleading. I was looking for a how-to install video on the hot rail. What I got was six minutes of you diddling on a Mexican guitar. Thanks...monkey feet.

  • @youneedmorecowbell thanks for insulting my physical appearance - that lends some clues as to your level of maturity. If you watch the first couple minutes of the videos, you'll get some wiring hints that aren't in the printed instructions or on any web sites I found about this; various other viewers have benefitted from this. I'm sorry to hear you don't have the capacity to do the same.

  • @youneedmorecowbell monkey feet! lmao! :0D

  • @youneedmorecowbell

    youneedtodie

  • I just this pickup on my strat. Followed your advice on the wiring. Works great. Thanks

  • you have some ugly feet dude!!!

  • @manolorex Why are you looking at his feet you freakin' weirdo.

  • Can i put a neck pickup in a middle position. Please help. I don't want to screw up my guitar. Im putting a seymour duncan disortion pickup in the bridge, and Im gonna use two hot rails for the neck and middle position.

  • Neck and middle PUs are generally the same output. That's why they only make N and B, no M. So you can use the neck in the middle.

  • Thanks.

  • Nice vid mate, seriously been considering this for one of my strats and have now decided to do the conversion thanks to your vid. Thanks again.

  • hey sorry u're using the tex mex pickups at the neck and mid position, but u changed the bridge pickups to hot rails right. thinking of doing the same

  • Omg, ignore the haters. Thanks for the video.

  • Thanks!! I do appreciate that!

  • @petelebu

    Good point

  • You should try the seymour duncan twang banger in your bridge position and get a reverse wired middle position pickup too. You can keep your single coil sounds all around, while getting a tele bridge sound from the twang banger. With the reverse wiring you can get more of a humbucker sound in the 2 and 4 position that will be a lot cooler than that hot rails pickup. Just my opinion though.

  • if you wanna play or sound like hendrix or to play funk all that stuff buy dimarzio

  • Thanks for posting this. Sounds good - tune up and go.
