@13ethan131 glad u liked it :D And as a simple start, think of any text that displays, including titles like 'Notes', any icon name, etc. you canchange that if you know where to look. also some games allow statistic modding to trivk your friends (check my video for doodle jump). With correct programs and knowledge, modding capabilities are endless :D

i sure didn't hear you, and shit man idk that is a bit silly indeed but nonetheless it should be highlighted just like every single little step because people on here are here because they wanna learn not guess or play trial and error. I ended up doing it a completely different way because this didn't work for me, so you might point out this may not work and the other ways to do it if you really wanna help people, not that you didn't do a good video, i'm just sayin.

@TheGanjaneer Yeah i hear you man, unfortunately this video is quite dated, so it isn't a proven method for the more recent firmwares, but i also don't operate on the more recent firmwares so have no way of testing. I wanna also release more up to date content for iDevices, but can't get SSH working :(

nvm figured it out, you need to note howeever than A you need to respring and B if you already have a mod lockscreen than you want the picture from and it also changes slide to unlock, that you gotta do that first respring, change it and respring again. CHEA

So i did this on my iphone 4 5.0.1 if that matters, and now nothing appears and no matter what i change it to nothing shows up? suggestion? theres another under the away lock label that i changed that says away lock label format slide to %#$ or whatevr it is but its symbols like that, might i change that instead? how can i make it say what i want from this point?

Well I was using WinSCP And SSHing over my iPod with a Computer, So maybe thats why.

@321bobbilly That may have been a problem. What computer OS do you run from? Because some aren't able to decipher iPod string files. Though i've never personally done any SSH'ing just for String Editing, as its so easy to do on the iDevice itself. If i were you, only use SSH if you want to:

a) Hack into a games code to cheat

b) COMPLETELY replace your firmware with presets on the internet

c) Change files using programs that are unavailable on iDevices.

I have the android thing for my iPod it let's me chamgr the slide to unlock or tap to unlock my days shake but u have to tap

If you delete any of those it will nullify the string, possibly causing errors (not likely, though haven't tested on newer iOS's).

Also, make sure not to alter ANYTHING outside of the "

If you do that, it will change A LOT, because of actions that call upon things like the 'slide to unlock'. So if its not called that anymore, problems will arise.

Yours seems to be resorting to console basics.

Mine's worked the first time but after i tried to change it the 2nd time, it doesn't work. The slide is basically empty without text. Could you help me with this?

@Yeehawkgeek Make sure whenever you do a change that the " marks are still surrounding the text. without those it just Nulls the whole string.

So it should be:

"example text"

If it has that, and u don't change anything major, respring. And it should be fine. If not PM me and ill try my best to work it out.

@vVKarizmaVv This only edits the .string, not the core IPSW. So all this does is change what "slide to unlock" says. If you delete the entry, it will revert to the IPSW for a class. If the IPSW does not include the class, it will be blank. But if you delete the text inside the "s then the slider will have no text on it.

I hope this helps, btw IPSW is the Firmwares File Type that iDevices run off.

@ozzyboy129 You'll need to give me more information on this error, did you follow the instructions properly, make sure you don't remove any of the " in the words. Just whats inbetween them. And no illegal characters and stuff like ALT Code Characters.

@seenyweeny Just go through the same method and change it, it should fix. If not then a System File has corrupted and you will need to Restore (that shouldn't of happened from just not respringing though)

@Hollowcashmoney Yes there is a way, but its not permanently that colour. The flash the slides across the text can be changed, try looking on Cydia for a different colour. I have mine as blue currently, and its not blue text, just has a blue flash scroll across it. Sorry if I didn't explain that very well

@Hollowcashmoney I know about RockApp, I do not use it because it has a fatal flaw. While installing packages, it does not properly install them to your device, causing errors, and inability to properly update. Although I do use RockApp to browse, Cydia is the only way I download, and that is what i recommend.

@Hollowcashmoney Wow you've got it worked out Lol. Well Cydia has never let me down, so i rely on it mainly, but RockApp is a nice browser, horrible downloader though. Icy has been dead for too long to bother using imo. But then again, I jailbroke back in the days of Installer, and i must say, that was FAR better then Icy.
