I took a master class from a world-class pianist and he said one of the best things to make multi-tasking easier and the entire piece better was to sing it in your head or out loud! It's obvious of it's effectiveness here, props man.
Well done, Joey. While there is a variation to tempo as you said, there is a lot of music here, none-the-less. I was particularly impressed with how varied your bass line was. My only critique is, "hang up your clothes!" ;)
When playing melodies for Be bop piano you should play the melody in both hands 2 octaves away from eachother - creates a really awesome sound and since you were already using a bass patch with that Rhodes hard patch it'll sound even better.

You tend not to move outside the changes much... there was a small amount of it - but you could certainly do alot more of this.
Sequencing is especially good for this - listen to some more Herbie Hancock (he's the pianist MASTER at this) and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.
Don't be afraid to move into the higher octaves and stay there when you're solo hits it's peak either.
Hey you can't play expressive like that! Just kidding you have found something I've been looking for! Keith you said. I like the humming it's like you're attached to the KEYS man!
wow... very impressive. i liked your improvisation alot, u really hit all the correct spots, and its not easy to improvise on major blues like this one. nice humming, u were almost singing all the correct notes:)
by the way how old are u and how long have u been playing the piano?
impressive man, I struggle to play stuff like that. i find it difficult alternating a steady bassy line and do a separate melody. thank god for midi ;-).
cool stuff dude! why dont u take off that split bass patch and keep it going with the regular piano patch- no split. sounds good. what keyboard are u using? have a good one man
POST 1: Hey Joey, I'll continue to RaveReview your videos and post 'em on my profile - on the premise that you pace your genius, Mr. Wunderkind, so you don't do a "Mozart MeltDown" - hey, I'm 53 years old and don't wanna witness another David Helfgott like in the film, "Shine" - them's the rules. You need to go Picasso mode and die after 8 wives and inventing several paradigm shifts as the Father of Modern Art.
ha ha, I love the humming. Atleast it's not as bad as Keith.
