i remember this storm when the wind went over 100 mph in omaha oh shit i was driving and then i jump in the back seat and took cover in 100 mph winds funiest thing ever
i remember this storm the sirens were a early warning before the storm came then when the storm hitted 10 minutes later power went out trees came down a big tree falled a car killing 2 guys in the car then there a was a tornado hitted iowa killing 4 at a boy scots camp then after the storm i remember hearing all the fire depts rushing to every sence they found the 2 dead in the crushed car there was a girl in there too she surivaled we all got to pray we wont have this storm again i live in omah
Not really, when the sirens go off usually there just warning you theres a bad storm and that it could produce strong winds and maybe some tornadoes. When the sirens go off for me I just ignore it unless it's something serious.
i was at my grandmas house nd it was even worse in millard nd my dad told me he ran downstairs nd he was so scared he 4got to take my dog downstairs my dog was cryin i felt so bad 4 my dog :{
Wait until I get my new storm videos posted. We had a lightening storm about a week ago. It is the worst lightening storm I have ever been through all my years in Omaha. One bolt after another. I went outside to get video. Then all of a sudden a bolt came down close to where I was standing. I almost dropped my camera. As if that weren't enough, I went back outside into a corner and felt protected enough to continue. Another bolt came close, and I went inside. I was actually shaking.
Wait till you see the lightening storm we had about a week ago. Can't process it till I get my new computer. A bolt came down very close to where I was standing. Almost dropped my camera. Worst lightening storm I have ever seen in Omaha.
Geeze this was one heck of a long tornado warning, I was in Elkhorn visiting a friend, one of the first few areas the tornado hit and we were under a warning for 2 whole hours!
I have a digital camera on video. Not an expert by any means. My memory card keeps running out so I have to upload the video and go back out over and over again. Think I need a memory card with more memory.
I wouldn't be standing there, looking at those terrifying clouds - tornado skies and sirens have their own built in chill factor - hope y'all made out okay - had underground shelter - what we need in Texas -
Are you sorry you weren't home at the time? I love storms. Missed the tornado in the 70s when I was at college at UNO. We were huddled in the book store when it came through. Came very close to us but missed us. We heard everything going down over a radio. Kept each other calm.
You're welcome. You probably had to go into your stairwell, right? I could run quickly into the interior hallway of my building. It's a concrete building. Very safe.
actually they weren't sure what to do with us lol. we were just told "if it makes you feel safe you can go to the coolers or go to the clothing area (it's the center of the building).
the store had many complaints the next day about safety like that from both employees, and customers. i know i didn't feel safe just being out on the floor like that during this, but at the same time it's a decent sized building/warehouse, so it would probably take a lot for it to come down or anything.
about 10 miles south of where i live 4 people were killed and 30-40 people were injured in a tornado in southern monona county at a campsite. may they be in our prayers.

I believe you're thinking of both the night of June 11, and the June 27 windstorm.

I know it was foolish, but I love storms. I live in a concrete building and can run into the interior hallway very quickly. I guess I'm a risk taker.
