  • I believe you're thinking of both the night of June 11, and the June 27 windstorm.

  • oh yea hune 11 was the boys scouts camp tornado and the omaha tornado then the 27 was the wind storm

  • the reason they sounded our sirens was a early warning before the storm hitted other wise it wound of tooken out the sirens

  • i remember this storm it was a wind storm

  • that strom was june 27th

  • Usually when the sirens go off you have like 3 mins or 30 seconds to take cover ;s

  • Not really, when the sirens go off usually there just warning you theres a bad storm and that it could produce strong winds and maybe some tornadoes. When the sirens go off for me I just ignore it unless it's something serious.

  • um.... we do live in tornado alley...

  • You have to be smart, and know when to head inside. All the tornado's iv'e been threw have been in the night :P

  • I head for the basement when the power goes out. :D

Same here. I live not too far down Harrison from where the EF-2 hit Millard last summer. XD

  • I am amazed guys, I thought the greenage was a metaphore!

  • When I see green skies-I run...

  • Thats some bad arse storm clouds, and that siren is really creepy too!

  • yeah i live in millard the tornado landed whent over my house

  • Our sirens scare the living daylights out of me ..

  • Wow, Umm, being parked under a rotating wall cloud... hmmm, not quite safe. Its was cool, but rather foolish!

  • Wait until I get my new storm videos posted. We had a lightening storm about a week ago. It is the worst lightening storm I have ever been through all my years in Omaha. One bolt after another. I went outside to get video. Then all of a sudden a bolt came down close to where I was standing. I almost dropped my camera. As if that weren't enough, I went back outside into a corner and felt protected enough to continue. Another bolt came close, and I went inside. I was actually shaking.

  • Wait till you see the lightening storm we had about a week ago. Can't process it till I get my new computer. A bolt came down very close to where I was standing. Almost dropped my camera. Worst lightening storm I have ever seen in Omaha.

  • Geeze this was one heck of a long tornado warning, I was in Elkhorn visiting a friend, one of the first few areas the tornado hit and we were under a warning for 2 whole hours!

  • yea this did move into little sioux i have a picture of it its really creepy XD

  • NCAA World Series takes place in Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha and..

IM NOT GONNA BE THERE Xddddddddddddd

  • at least this city isn't like iowa, i think its still flooding in cedar rapids

  • I have a digital camera on video. Not an expert by any means. My memory card keeps running out so I have to upload the video and go back out over and over again. Think I need a memory card with more memory.

  • I wouldn't be standing there, looking at those terrifying clouds - tornado skies and sirens have their own built in chill factor - hope y'all made out okay - had underground shelter - what we need in Texas -

  • I know it was foolish, but I love storms. I live in a concrete building and can run into the interior hallway very quickly. I guess I'm a risk taker.

  • Omaha p0wns any city,

i went on vacation so im not there

  • Are you sorry you weren't home at the time? I love storms. Missed the tornado in the 70s when I was at college at UNO. We were huddled in the book store when it came through. Came very close to us but missed us. We heard everything going down over a radio. Kept each other calm.

  • i was stuck at work when this happened. which sucks because i couldn't see much of what was going on. thanks for posting this!

  • You're welcome. You probably had to go into your stairwell, right? I could run quickly into the interior hallway of my building. It's a concrete building. Very safe.

  • actually they weren't sure what to do with us lol. we were just told "if it makes you feel safe you can go to the coolers or go to the clothing area (it's the center of the building).

the store had many complaints the next day about safety like that from both employees, and customers. i know i didn't feel safe just being out on the floor like that during this, but at the same time it's a decent sized building/warehouse, so it would probably take a lot for it to come down or anything.

  • about 10 miles south of where i live 4 people were killed and 30-40 people were injured in a tornado in southern monona county at a campsite. may they be in our prayers.

  • I'm sorry for all those people at the campsite. Terrible tragedy.

  • Cool sky video there, too bad you didnt pan back out and show more....Still, pretty cool thx...
