  • So now you just need a jacket made out of solar panels!

  • Magnets for me.

It is the same principle as a vacum cleaner, but better!

    Magnets creates electricity AND motion.

Motion can be amplified with electricity, thereby, more leftover power utillized for more motion makes more electricity until a point were it reaches its max, in short - magnets make its own power!

What if we utllized that kind of power in full skale for propelled planes, making it able to generate its own power?

    Not possible?

Then try use your brain to come up with something =P

  • 240p... we meet again...

  • more video pls...in HD

  • apparently O.C.C. has clowded what a "bobber" really is.

A "bobber" is a stock bike stripped down of anything that doesnt produce performance.

A "chopper" is a bike that was made to look cool, and also perform at the same time.

The bike in the video above is a "chopper" being as it most likely didnt start out life as a production motorcycle.

People need to learn the difference between a "chopper" and a "bobber" is.

  • @TheWrectify Oh please since every person customizing these since day one had their own interpretation about what the ideal was they were striving to build, and the results varying just as wildly, do we really need to chastise people for not picking the proper catagories their work falls into?

I don't think many start off thinking what label they will put on their dream, they just build it and enjoy the result.

I've done a few cars(batvette!) if I do a bike someday I'll call it MY MACHINE.

  • watch "Loud Pipes save lives - Custom Chopper"

  • Hey im building a minibike too but i dont know what kind of electric engine i should buy. can u tell me what kind of engine u got?!?!

  • just the thing i was looking for!! PLEASE post the specs of batteries, motor, controls and budget to make it...!!!

  • just the thing i was looking for!! PLEASE post the specs of batteries, motor, controls and budget to make it...!!!

  • your my new hero bro !...thats 1 sweet ride....can i get a list of parts ...i'd like to build 1 too....thanks 4 your help.....peace

  • cool : ) but get a better camera!

  • please can you give me the exact part list directions and price i want to do a conversion but im still looking for a good design

  • So lucky you can drive It legally.

  • really this thing isent safe cuz someone in a car is not going to hear you one day..

  • @walston410

If you rely on the cagers hearing you to get by you will get hit, motorcycles are invisible to people in cages to busy talking and texting on phones anyways. I dont think this makes any difference at all, these types of conversions are about functional travel to work and back not cruising the country side for the weekend so 40-50 mile range should be good.

  • nice work waiting for this tech to get main stream, cant wait till you can ride 500km on one charge.

  • I say waste just a little of that electricity for a speaker and amp to mimic engine sounds. Don't use it all the time, but when someone says shit flip it on loud and have a laugh.

  • specs range speed batt size voltage

  • what size engine did you use?

  • What size and brand of engine did you use? Are they cheap to pick up?

  • NICE!!!!!!!!!!! very nice.

  • i think they'er missing the point here... where's the copper sound?

  • Awesome technology there, the governments throughout the world have known about for 80 years, but that would have foiled the petroleum scheme.....eh!

  • Exactly.

  • love it! which harley frame? reminded me of a zerochop frame-thx 4the vid!!

  • ot's not about top speed with thease it abot the instant Tq.

  • nice work;-) Planning to build a simple 1920s board track styled e-moto myself... this definately gave me a confidence boost.

  • Hmm, my love of motorcycles (mainly bobbers) and love of electronics tell me i'm pissed that you beat me to it. But still kick ass.

  • I like this, do you have construction information ?

  • the motor is so tricked out that the extra coil shock is needed to ease the frontend down(bobber)usualy club related 80's B>M>F and you can steer.++

  • For me it would need a surplus helicopter turbine run on veg.oil with propane afterburner!! stay tuned!!!

  • can you please grab any teenaged kid off the street and have them shoot a real vid of this so we can see what's what? this is friggin AWESOME.

  • this is something that i've been wanting to build for quite some time but don't know much about how to get started- my first question is: is there a transmission? if not, do you think a transmission would reduce the power to the wheels significantly? (but also wouldn't it be able to take advantage of power output at higher speeds?)

  • Well, I like it. I also understand it. Don't mind idiots like leafedaduffa. In fact I would delete his comment if I were you. Its a fine piece of machinery and way ahead of its time. We'll pass him up at the gas station....

  • Some of you asked what kind of batteries - Samsung 18650s - straight lithium ion. DONT use this kind of battery unless you like fire between your legs. Build around Lithium iron phosphate.

  • Okay okay everyone - it's true it's a bobber not a chopper!

I had "bobber" up and no one found it :)

PS - tomcat, I'm putting a late sixties boat-flake paint job on it now. And yes OCC makes crap!

  • @drcelsius Actually, a bobber IS a chopper. The original choppers were bikes where they chopped off everything unnecessary.

It was a while later before "Chopper" was associated with the added on (not chopped off) long front ends and crazy rakes.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with calling that bike a chopper. Only people too young to know what choppers really were would think there is much of a difference.

  • @thechurchofdave - amen bruther!

  • @thechurchofdave i'm too young, but i know >.>

  • is an AC induction motor

    better than a DC motor?

    what power motor?

    1000w?

  • choppers are supposed to be phat and chunky..

  • Learn from history not TV..

Chopper = stripped down bike frame with wheels, a seat and bare minimum, sometimes even less..

First choppers were bike frames with wheels, they didnt even have lights, everything was chopped off.

Nowadays all they do to their so called "choppers" is add stuff, more and more stuff.

It goes against the very concept of a chopper.

Fat and chunky has very little to do with a chopper.

TV bikes they make should be named "Adders" or "Stuffers" not Choppers..

  • yeah but its better like that

  • It ain't cool loaded up with crap

  • Yes!! I'm glad you brought this up! Everyone nowadays thinks a ton of chrome, 2 tons of bolt-ons, and a 12-color paintjob makes a chopper, but it doesn't!! Choppers are bareboned, and lightweight. Oakland County Osbournes (OCC) have it ass-backwards!

  • @ffsallnamestaken It is a semantic argument like silencer and suppressor. it is subjective.

  • Great job! 40 miles is great... nice top speed too. How do you like the AC induction? is it the one from HighPerformanceGolfCarts?

  • I'm very interested in the build of this especially lithium batteries. How much did all of this cost? Is it hard to charge and monitor the lithium batteries? Where can you purchase the parts? I'm planning on making an EV bike for a senior project and lithium packs seem to have the best runs

  • That's more like a BOBBER not a CHOPPER. Please tell us more about it.

  • So that's the noise you get when you subtract the gas engine. No wonder why the gas engine is so loud on most motorcycles.

  • Major accomplishment I love the concept ....seems the bobbers take to the EV concept well I'm thinking about doing something similar What kind of Chassis was this originally?

  • Aftermarket HD - Flyrite choppers

  • ah... it's not a chopper... but good job!

  • I know Iknow its a bobber but no one knows what a bobber is. ;)

  • does anyone know how you connect the throttle up on one of these things?

    I need to know!

  • they take a hall or 5k pot depending on controller type

  • I have a '79 yamaha xs1100,can this be done the same way?

  • What did you put on this Bike Man? this is awsome.!!!!!!

  • DETAILS-DETAILS-DETAILS. DUDE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT IDEA.I would kill for that bike.Cmon man help us out.Get enough of us riding EV bikes and cars and maybe we can say F-off to the saudis. NOW THAT WOULD ROCK!!!!!!!!!

  • THANK GOD! at last someone who dosen't like the saudis oil!

  • whats the top speed of this bike?, damn, that thing goes fast? isn`t it?:P (for an electric bike)

    gr

    Roel Oosterhuis

  • A lowrider chopper; that's the kind of electric bike I want :)

  • OK i need a how to video, finally an ebike that doesnt look dorky . :)

  • I need a how to, to. PLEASE post some specifics. I would be more than happy to ride YOUR Chopper to work.

  • Impressive...

Induction motor ? What strategy did you use in order to control it ? v/f or Field Oriented Control?

Please share some technical infomation : Motor power and voltage

Lithium battery pack capacity, voltage , chemistry.

Did you build the controller ?

Did you build and booster ?

Do you have web page ?

    Best regards .

  • That bike looks really uncomfortable with both your legs and arms forward. I wouldn't want to sit in that position for very long. Why not try adding some handlebars that pull back farther?

  • you never seen a harley before?

  • AaronGreen:

You said, "you never seen a harley before?"

Obviously you haven't. I own a Dyna Wide Glide and the seated position is nothing like this piece of crap. The handlebars should come back much farther and higher if you are going to sit in a legs forward position; otherwise you will put a severe strain on you lower back.

  • nope i haven't, i once saw a honda motorbike it was one of those fast ones.

  • Where are you from?

  • hehe

  • awesome bike...my hard tail is getting the sawsall! what batts, controller etc? distance at 70 mph...i have some freeway to get to the firehall...as far as the noise, drive defensive, get an airhorn....and carry a traffic cop...lol

  • Details man, details!!! How many miles on a charge?? How long to charge??? What kinda batteries? AC or DC?? Details please, love this bike!!

  • I like it, I want one, I am going to start building one tomorrow.

  • did you though?

  • Details man. We live on this planet together... I won't sell your design.

Would be greater on a lighter frame made from alloys... hoping for those soon.

    peace.

  • Make a longer video!!!

  • great bike what do you have for transmission

  • direct drive, double reduction jackshaft

  • Nothing like a whisper quiet motorcycle so the cars cannot hear you coming and pull out in front of you even more often.

Personally, I do feel that loud pipes save lives - especially my own.

  • my thoughts exactly!... +1 motorcycles are already difficult to see in traffic as it is, i say the louder the bike the safer. :)

  • hey buddy change to "impact drilling"

  • What speeds can you reach on that?

  • 70 MPH clocked at el mirage. But 80 or 85 is possible. It will go 100 MPH with a gearing change.

    Zack

  • Zack, You are having too much fun. This is the best video blog on You Tube.

  • you should consider a shaft drive and completely remove the need for any oil.

I believe BMW motorbikes use a shaft drive. Then you'd be totally silent. Nothin' wrong with that.

  • belt drive !

  • I to would love to build a electric motorcycle - How did you go about building this?

  • This is really nice! I´ll give it 5 stars

  • To answer some questions: So the bike is powered by an AC induction motor and runs at 84vdc. Why a chain? I like the look of chains and the sound you hear in the video is actually the chain whine, good to make some noise on an otherwise silent bike. Belt drives are okay but chain is more efficient (IMHO).

  • Great bike! I'm thinking of building a EV...

Why didn't you use belt drive, makes sense, almost no noise, very cheap, and the belt have a damping effect. The bike is really great don't you have a problems with lack of noise, do people notice you're there? AHAH

  • cool jacket

  • what type of batteries are you running? The motor AC or DC? Very cool. thanks

  • awesome.

    5vd.

  • Thanks!
