  • that starfield sim is pretty bitchin'

  • pon el codigo fuente porfa

  • Very nice! I started programing around the age of 8, before I even knew English (I learnt words like If and Then from QBasic) but I've never done something so spectacular.

  • This is art! Thanks for sharing!

  • phew.... what did you have for a computer? Pentium? My 386 could never have run that without extra assembly graphics routines...

  • Dang. I wish I knew how to write that stuff when I was 11.

  • Awesome! I'd like to see the 11-year-olds of today try to accomplish this.

  • Could you upload the .BAS file and publish the URL?

  • у когонибудь есть эта программа ???

  • This was a nice demo, reactos23. Thanks for sharing. Did you do your own graphics libraries, or were you running this with native graphics commands? The native commands would be too slow to run without flicker or like this, so I figured you were either on a much faster system or using a QLB or BI w/asm or a more powerful include like SVGALIB (though it looked more screen 13 or mode x rather than vesa). Btw, do you use ReactOS? I tried it out a few times years ago...nice to see ppl know of it! :)

  • Nice stuff! It took me till age 16 to get a simple paint program with a GUI going in QB :P

  • Donald Duck lol

  • I wrote my first game when I was 10, but I wrote my first program when I was 6 in QBasic. I taught myself using the help files. Programming at 6 is not a big deal.

  • @TheSuese Everyone SHOULD know how a computer is programmed. It gives you a better understanding of the computer. We spend so much time 'dumbing things down' that our software is 'easy' but featureless. Every single person who uses a computer should know how it is programmed.

  • Well, I've been put to shame. I thought I was a badass programmer at that age because I could use Print, Locate, and If statements.

  • @luketorpedo i know right

  • Yeah I am 8 and I know PHP and VB, and some QBasic

  • let's see the code

  • im 9 and im gonna be the youngest programmer >:)

  • @Aksl8 Sorry, that's already been beat.

  • @Aksl8 The youngest programmer is in age 6. He is from japan. Look him up at youtube, and be amazed

  • @Flugengengenhains Be amazed by what? That he's done programs at age 6 in Japan when I was programming at age 5 in the USA on an 8088 ibm pc in 8086 assembler and GWBASIC? In a time when there were no "internet sites" with pre-canned code, no flash drives, no webcams, and no paths to information that weren't from a book or a bulletin board system. Not amazed yet, sorry. Kids today have it easy today. Most aren't even programming, they just write pseudo-code for point/click virtual objects! :-(

  • 11?! When I was 11 I didn't even know what programming was..

  • this is absolutely amazing for when you were 11. i am 12 now and have knowledge in php, freebasic, and c+sdl, but i could never create something like that. you mind sharing the source?

  • yeah, cool, do u have the code? EMERGENCY!

  • amazing!

  • Awesome work.

  • You made that when you were eleven? :| OH MAN!

  • While I wasn't doing stuff LIKE this till I was 14, there's some pretty advanced math in there for an 11 year old that I didn't get too till I was 17.

  • 11? I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around that.

  • 1:32 Reminded me a ZX Spectrum tape loading :D

  • source code please!

  • It's 95% mathematics knowledgments against 5% qbasic commands. Anyway, it's a nice work!

  • osht

    awesome

  • Windoze lol

  • wow, i want this! for 11, you did very good

  • 'Very good' would be an understatement, considering the limited capabilities of the program.

  • Just needs a chiptune playing too then it will be perfect

  • Did you create the windoze 95 thing?

If you did can you send me the code please

  • Ah, QBasic brings back some nice memories :) I wonder if Donald Duck is really at the other end of a black hole? Creepy!

  • Wow! Pretty skillful for age 11.

  • I was taking the piss.

  • Cool, I'm 4 years old and I'm learning QBasic, I can't wait to be this good.

  • I like how the maker of the video bragged about how old he was when he made it, so everyone else does the exact same thing

  • Memories, Memories...

I guess I started with all this when I was eight or something. Made my last masterpiece when I was 11, now using VB.

Dang, I need to get this software again...

  • Funny nostalgic thing!

  • Do people still use Qbasic anymore?

  • lol yep:( my gr 11 computer engiinering class uses qbasic

  • hahaha... i know adults who only know the print command... and here i am learning C++...

  • im 11, and i can only just do simple codes... this is so cool

  • so, is nobody going to post the source?

  • cool! I am 12 and I wish I could be that good in Qbasic!

  • Cool, would you share the source please? :)

  • oh yeah, by the way, you're just like me when i was 11. Cos i'm 11 years old!(yes, i lied to youtube about my age). And i do qbasicing!

  • i love qbasic!

  • sweet :)

  • yeah!
