Each sid has 3 voices per chip.

    This synth has 4 chips.

If he was to arrange 2 chips apiece to 2 stereo channels he could have a stereo sound arrangement (2 x 6 = 12 voices total).

  • Cool acid type sounds coming from this baby. Go QuadraSID

  • Thanks

  • Wrong, you hear only one. I never said all 4 SIDs are playing, but i said these are first tests.

And, how do you expect to hear 12 channels playing? One SID one channel!

  • uuhh....did you build this?

Wow if you managed it.......you are pretty dumb....One SID is 3 channels (oscillator)

  • Yes, I`m pretty dumb. How did you know?

  • Wow that sounded harsh :D. Sorry. You aren't dumbb......it's how you word it. One SID is 3 voices, and 1 channel (i.e. Left and Right channel in Stereo)

  • It has original SID filters, but next octa SID will probably have external CEMs.

Good luck finding those 6581 chips.

I just looked at your flickr photos and I only see one chip mounted!!

  • @HoneycombAgent

It is not 6581, it is newer 8580 that is bit better.

I don`t have to find it... I managed to collect more than 30 Commodores during few years. ;)

  • Awesome work!!! Has it analog filters?

  • Quad sid?? WTF! :)

  • Jeah ! ;)
