So much better than the Gonzales version. Gonzales's version has no flow, his voice comes to a full stop after every line. Not to mention his only has the base melody as he plays it on guitar and is missing the percussion and other effects that make the song so great.

they are both great versions of the song. i'm glad gonzales took the song in another direction instead of just imitating the original. whether or not you think it's better is irrelevant - if he tried to copy the style of the original it would have been a pointless cover. instead he put his own spin on it which is always a good thing.

i don't think it's possible to rate any music for how "good" it is because that's all opinion. but the whole point of covers is to have an original take on a song of a different style, and the gonzales version does that and pulls it off pretty well imo. didn't mean to sound biased.

seriously? his version is exactly what proves that's not the case. if either had to be naturally mellow, it would easily be piano (not distorted synths) and guitar the aggressive one. have you ever heard of metal? is that piano or guitar?

you can play aggressive music on piano or guitar, and you can play mellow music on piano or guitar. the instrumentation just determines frequency tone. jose gonzalez's is mellow because he played it mellow, not because it was guitar...
