@Pilkingtube The Optoma PK301 accepts HD as an input (720p) but will downscale it when it outputs it to it's native resolution (WVGA) - same as when you take a picture on a computer that is larger than the screen and zoom it to fit the screen
@darrenforster99 Read the description of the video, it says 'showing it's capabilities of projecting 720p at 60hz with easy' I was just confused because benocha lied in his video description >_< I ended up buying the samsung SP-H03 instead :)
@Pilkingtube Yeah I know it's a bit misleading, I've just ordered one of these PK301's 'cos even though they don't display full HD looking at the videos I've seen they don't look too bad - even when they're shown on Gadget show in a semi lit TV studio. There are no pico projectors at the moment that does HD, unless you take a gamble on the Abis ones, but they're bigger than a pico and apparently even they're not HD.
@darrenforster99 That's pretty much what I ended up doing, cocked up and got a crappy ACER one first, used a USB for both power and data, absolute disaster, the 480p projectors that use separate power/VGA connectors are usually fine though, as long as they're over 20 lumens :)
@jazzmann16 this projector is 1080p and i retard. you just need the settings adjusted correctly which he doesn't and it's being recorded for youtube so it doesn't show what it looks like in person. retard retard retard
@gadgetboy1234 yeah and i p are the same pretty much. this projector is beast. 400 bucks and you got a full home theater screen. you just need to make a screen correctly(fuck paying 700 bucks for one). making a homemade one is easy and works just as good.
@gamerforlife2010 interlaced has half the pixels at one time than progressive, but anyways. I completely agree with you about the projector, infact mines coming today :D im making an interactive multitouch projected surface, and this projectors perfect.
@gamerforlife2010 Hi there! Gadgetboy1234 is correct: The Optoma PK301 has a maximum video output resolution of 1080i.
I guess that makes you the retard?
And if you're going to continue to insist that you're right, and that everyone else is wrong, why don't you visit the Optoma USA website and check out the specs for the 301?
Hey, how big you can get the screen if you are like lets say +- 2 meters (6 ft)?
My room is not really big and the idea to get a TV on the 40" is like imposible because of the way the windows are located, I'm looking to get this small projector to watch movies and run the PS3, and the PK301 fits perfect! is small so it can be put away easy, is LED powered what reflects on cost of operation and heat generated (SMALL ROOM!!!) and can take HDMI video (I can Plug the Ps3 or the PC)
@donmcthrill I was just joking because off the part @ 6:38 but he is talking about a HDMI adapter indeed.. Don't know why it would not work is he talking about the technical part or just the shape....
for some reason the ps3 and my pk301 wont work. the pk301 works with everything else. ive tried different sequencing and even reduced the display to 480p. what gives?
hello,i want to get one mainly for gaming but also for watching movies...
i've got some questions...can i hook up PS2(composite cable, rca) on it?and if so how can i do that?do i need an adapter or sth?what about a PSP with a component cable?and how big can the screen get?
If u compared it with ACER C20 which one would better?
sorry for the many questions, but i am really excited about this...plz respond...
i have the same projector and ps3 slim i connected the projector through the HDMI and it automatically went to the highest setting 1080i not 720p try it is is allot clearer
the video is great... if you had recorded this video with a nokia n8, you could have used the HDMI cable, and the whole video would've been spectacular!!!
i noticed on my projector it is kinda blurry and i was wondering is it still blurry if u have the actuall projector screen because on yours it doesnt seem blurry at all. it just seems rad
@Guitarrassdeamor ya, i returned mine, im just going to get a bigger gumpier more reliable one, one with a fan and with a lamp, and 2600 lumens instead of 50 lumens.. the small ones gets waaay too hot, dont care about all that 20000 hours of lamp life, that tiny thing would fry way before that. it is great for old nintendo games and movies though.
@1787dude I dunno, I think I'll keep mine. Bought a 72" screen, picture isn't crystal, but hey, it's going to be 72"....works for me in my room. Can't wait to play some KZ3 on it. And if I get bored of it, I'm sure I can get $400 out of the duo on Craigslist or so, still making a few bucks.
I just wonder what's the differences on the LCD lumens and the bulb lumens, because the LCD lumen numbers are smaller than the bulb ones. I just can't imagine, if the number on the LCD is equal to the bulb one, even I have a 1500 lumens bulb kind, I still can't see shit when daylight with a curtain, so I can't imagine how I can see something with 50 lumens, can you explain a little if you understand what I'm saying?
how did you keep this on a constant power supply?
