  • @acidbug i tried G Phrygian (guess this is the english name..not so shure but its the 3rd Mode of Eb so...it is Phrygian isnt it? ;D )

  • yes, it is... actually you're referring to the position, to the pattern of the scale an not to the mode. The intro of this track is in Gm, corresponding to a mode C Dorian. You can use the following patterns: B Ionian, C Dorian, D Phrygian, Eb Lydian and so on... From 00:58 it changes to Eb so you can improvise in Eb Ionian, F Dorian, G Phrygian and so on. Actually the scale is the same but played in different patterns that, out of tonal context, we identifie as a mode. The mode remains the same
