Doesn't work for me because there is a second installation process that never stops loading until you put in the camera ... actually even then it doens't stop loading

To all those getting the error 10 problem when editing the hclassic.inf...

Replace the second occurance of...

48,00,ff

WITH...

48,00,ff, 72,ee,ff

At the last step, when you have "windows has finished installing the driver software ...", mine says that windows found the driver but has met an error in trying to install it, the folder is not found =/ I have a SLEH-00031 and windows 7 x64

@fancykerri83 If you know how, boot into safe mode and find the option to allow unsigned drivers to be installed. Hope you get this before you buy one

Thanks!! It works on 32bit Windows 7 perfectly. I installed the Hercules Webcam driver that was 32bit instead of 64bit (which was shown in the video) but followed everything else. If anyone ran into code 43 error like I did after plugging in the camera (it'll show up as Unknown Device in Device Manager instead of Eyetoy Namtai Camera), then shutdown and unplugging the computer should do the trick. I probably ran into this code due to many failed installations over the years. Thanks again!

@mtzjon you need to change the name of every VID_05A9&PID_4519 and VID_05A9&PID_451 (there are more than one), it fixed it for me when I did that.

@halfamused I think I've worked out the Code 10 error everyone's getting. At 5:18 you say to navigate to location of driver but don't say which. Although it's obvious, I also navigated to the AppData/Local/Temp etc driver and not the one which we copied and edited at 1:40.

Well what can i say !!! followed the instructions in the video and the EDIT part of the info for my N..Ps2 Eye toy, and worked a treat :) under Windows 7 64bit :) Your a life saver as had to keep switching to xp (dual boot) just to use my cam

Thank again, and if any body is worried or think this is hard, dont worry it's not. Took me about 5 mins (inc the download and wife asking me questions on going to the shops lol)

This Works on Windows Vista Home Premium x64. if it gives you an error after selecting the reconfigured file, repeat 5:04-5:34ish. This solved it for me and Skype instantly detected the webcam. Thanks a ton @halfamused!

Mhhh could it be possible that it depents on the Cam Version?

I've the SLEH 00030 from Logitec. I'm trying to use it with Win 7 x64.

The installation set that its done....so no error! But I can't use this Cam. Like in skype it says that I have a Cam (PS2 Eyetoy Cam) but when Skype is trying to load a picture it's just searching and searching and searching! Camtasia just tells me that it might be possibe another Program uses this Cam. But I know, no other Program tries to use the cam.

I would first try troubleshooting your problem by uninstalling the cam and reinstalling it from Device Manager. If that doesn't work, try a program called Manycam. It's a free program that high-jacks your camera processes and is used in place of that device in whatever other program you are using (Skype, Camtasia). If neither of those work for you I will update the description with a possible incompatibility.

Sorry, I haven't got a clue. I suppose incompatible drivers are sometimes incompatible. Since I don't have the problem myself, I wouldn't know where to start. Hopefully someone who's experiencing the same thing can come up with a fix.

Sorry I couldn't make it easier. I would love to be able to just re-pack the altered drivers and make them available for easy download. Unfortunately, copyright laws these days prevent me from doing so. A video for teaching purposes is all I can get away with here. If you are patient I'm sure somebody will eventually upload some fixed drivers. That person just wont be me :P

Did you follow the video while making the same changes? The addition of ', 72,ee,ff' in the right place fixed the (Code 10) error for me, and others.

Windows should find the driver, even if it is not willing to accept it. Are you following the steps in the video up to "Have Disk", manually pointing the installer at the HCLASSIC.INF file? If you use the "Search for Driver" function earlier in the installer it will NOT find it. Also double check your HCLASSIC file to ensure all VID_05A9&PID_4519 have been changed to match your camera's VID and PID.
