Awesome! I can foresee this song transforming into my favorite ringtone. Wargames: The quintessential hacker movie for anybody that grew up in the 80's.
@Oyabungaijin lol!!!! A true 80's soulmate if you remember that line!!!!'
Great movies back then...no need for hip pop and not such a huge focus on computer generated special effects. There was heart and creativity and wit and humor.
That system probably contains new 'data encryption algorithms' - you'll never get in there. Love the way they threw techie words in to make sound more... techie.
Still a great movie, one of my favourites and one of the best from the 80's.
Now I'd better get back to my raw corn on the cob.
(Sigh) An interesting era that was... So different from now. We thought the future would tech-laden, so many music works reflected that concept. And now, here we are: Right & wrong about how life these days would be. There's tech everywhere, but I haven' heard any decent-sounding new electronica since "Runaway" was released... And not much for sometime before that.
First cinematic reference to a "firewall" - a security measure used in computer networking and Internet security. This does not predate the existence of the Internet, however, which is considered to have started in 1969.
@cecilturtle "...with a red dash alpha message in two parts." I think Drop Kick was Lt. Col. Bowers from the "Impact" scene. "Elmendorf Air Force Base Operations, Lt. Col. Bowers."

Where did you get this?! IIRC the version on the OST is the horrible borked one, where some inane lyrics has replaced the main synth voice.
