The Statler Brothers Sang for Cash, Johnny that is. They did Backup for Johnnie Cash'e Early Songs, You can Hear harold's Voice real good in Candy Store (1958) All of the Statler brothers Songs are Great. They are now Retired and Living in Snow Country and jus enjoying themselves.
After you have lost your parents this one hits close to home. Had an uncle killed during the Battle of the Bulge and another wounded several times in the ETO. I just can't imagine what is was like to have been aroun during that horrible war.
First time in 10 years I have been able to listen to these god sent voices. Thanks for posting it, and Thank You Statler Brothers for the best songs ever. And to my Dad, your voice is no longer with us, but I can still hear you singing along with your favorite group :)

This song is Right... Christmas last for only 3 or 4 minutes..You can't buy it ...It's when you make a childs eyes become as big as silver dollars..It's a wonderful feeling. If you have ever did it you know what I'm speaking of.. Great song..TKS
I love this song as well as every other song the Statlers sing. I can listen to this anytime of the year and it makes me sit and think of all the family times I had growing up with members that have passed on. Thanks for posting this.
Great Song, I can only imagine the joy of Christmas 1945, the war was over and the soldiers were coming home. I lost an Uncle 1-15-45 during the Battle of the Bulge. 20 years old.
Both of my parents, my inlaws and my husband have passed. Christmas brings so many happy memories, but also a great sense of loss. This is one song that will always bring memories back.
This was one of my Mom & Dads favorite Christmas songs. They were huge Statler Bros fans & both me & my brothers became fans. Mom & Dad are both gone now & I can't listen to this song without thinking about them. Never fails to remind me of what they went thruogh to make sure we always had something for Christmas. Thank you for posting the song!
The Greatest Gift of all is something that you can't buy.......so true........
