Great Video!! I'm teaching myself how to sew and your videos are full of great ideas. Since I'm still in the beginning process of learning could you (or anyone of the viewers) explain why you cut the skirt fabric diagonally from the top and how did you determine the point to cut to? Thanks so much!

@mswangsarah cutting diagonally just because it makes a little flare. A lot of skirts are an upside down V shape where its more fabric at the bottom just for the flare effect. you determine the point where you cut to by measuring how long or short you want a skirt or dress to be, so if you are making a skirt for yourself just measure from the hips or whatever you wear your skirt from to your knee or ankle however long you want it. hope that helps.

@mswangsarah oh and also its much easier to walk in a long skirt when theres more fabric at the bottom. so if she had cut straight it might be hard to take large steps. :-)
