This must be a joke, look at the incar image from the Bugatti at 1.20 and you will notice that it´s clearly catching the Mclaren and fast(Not to mention that in the start the Veyron launch was obviously not nearly as good as it can be, on purpose I guess) so the Veyron should EASILY have won. Loved it. Both cars are Awesome!! But I loved the Bugatti over Mclaren. It just showed if it was a short race the Mclaren would of won, but a long race the Bugatti.

what that means is that the torque on the Maclaren is more powerful than the Bugatti that's why it got ahead for a few seconds. the Bugatti just has the bigger HP that's why it beat the F1 on a mile street race.

@suprmax, F1 was quicker off the line because veyron owner didn't allow Hammond to use LC and you can't beat manual revved to its powerband with automatic that starts off at idle. Official tests where both cars have done best in the hands of professionals show that theres no way F1 can beat veyron from 0-60, 1\4 mile etc. They should have had measuring equipment onboard but that would have ruined the show.

Ofcourse being quite powerful and light its definenlty very good but I think its not that good on tracks with high speed through corners where a lot downforce is needed. Lets be honest, at the time F1 ruled the world no-one was testing supercars that hard like today. I haven't seen any modern day test where some professional driver slams the F1 around track and shares he's opinion about handling.

I can't find a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time or McLaren F1, but I remember, when Ferrari Enzo came out, they tested it against McLaren on a race track and McLaren F1 won, so I guess the handling is good. Enzo on Nürburgring Nordschleife has 7:25.7 and Veyron has around 7:40 ... In a straight line no one can touch Veyron, but it's as heavy as a Chevy Blazer ....

@hachimitsu1988, veyron ring laptime is pretty much BS. It wasn't factory test meaning that it was someones car so it hardly was driven on the edge. Only couple of laps done and also the lap was done in traffic with overtakings etc. For example GT-R and ZR1 have their own garage box and have done maybe more than thousand laps with telemetry and shitload of adjusting to suit the ring.

Pretty much all top things have most value in the prestige they give. Nevertheless if you watch how veyron is made, how much engineering and presicion goes into it, what materials are used etc. then it quite makes sense.

actually the veyron has MUCH better launch capabilities with its 4 wheel drive & launch control. 0-60 time is 2,5 seconds and the mclaren comes nowhere close to that. however, who cares, it's TV, they gotta make it look close. also i'd chose the mclaren over the veyron any day :)

I'd rather have the McLaren any day. It's a 4-mile stretch, and the Veyron got totally left behind until well over half of it I would guess. How often are you going to be able to gun it for several miles in the world's fastest car? Pretty much never. The acceleration is where it's at.

Plus the McLaren looks way better.

If u actually ever sat in a running F1 you would realize that its practically un-rideable..

The sound of the engine in the cockpit is just deafening...you actually have to wear headphones and speak through a microphone to communicate with you co-passenger....And the seats and the sitting position is just horrible..And not to mention the half a million buttons there on the cockpit...you have to press like 20 switches just to configure it..

The F1 Is a thrill ride but its not practical..
