The commission signed off on the wraps in the mosley fight too. It wasn't until Nazim wanted the wraps to be redone that they took them off. The plaster doesn't get hard or is easy to see when they wrap them. It's not until the fight starts and the sweats starts going that the plaster starts to get hard. Which is why Margarito starts slow, and why the cutman in the cotto fight asked him how's the punch, cause the plaster was getting harder, and harder until it's like a rock.

When I used to fight, I was nervous & my mind was on a lot of things. But when my trainer was wrapping my hands for competitions, I would always watch intently. This being for the simple reason that it was a great diversion and a chance to think about something else. Kind of a break from the stress of anticipation. Also sometimes the trainer will inadvertedly wrap too tight in one rotation or another. At that point, the fighter must notify the trainer because it is troublesome to go back.

I'm like you in thinking Margarito had much more incentive to cheat in his previous fights particularly in his fight against Cotto. If I was Cotto, Cintron, and Golden Johnson I definitely ask the boxing commissions to make an investigation.

I've lost all my respect for Margarito and I really hope Cotto gets a rematch to prove that he really is the better fighter.
