  • God gives us freedom to make choices but PCC takes them away.

  • This seems like a bunch of Sovereign Gracers got together and wrote a song in order to mock freewillers

  • @bigbadwolff1 I thought it was paroday too. But it's genuine.

  • Regarding 2 Pe 3:9, imagine the US President giving a speech on hunger saying, "My fellow Americans...our Government is generous toward you, not wishing that any should go hungry, but that all should be fed." Does this mean the US is going to feed everyone in the world? Certainly not. It's the same in Peter, "This is the second letter that I am writing to you, beloved (3:1)...The Lord...is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance"

  • Barf.

  • Looks like 37 people don't believe in the Sovereignty of God, or the Bible.

  • ROTFL! Oh my goodness. I agree with Samuelb - there is no way that that can be real! Wow...just wow.

  • There is no way this is real ahahahahahaha!!!! This sounds like a song calvinist made to make fun of arminians lol! Reminds me of the satire book "Against Calvinism"

  • Just cuz you can make it rhyme doesn't make it true lol

  • I believe Scripture would disagree with the fact that it's God's perspective.

  • CHOICE YES, but FREEDOM of CHOICE NO!!!!... only God has absolute freedom of the will, to DO the good pleasure of his will. why? BECAUSE THE BIBLE SAYS SO, thats why! Philippian 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of HIS GOOD PLEASURE!.. NOT mans good pleasure... what is good in the sinner outside of Jesus Chist anyways???? this song is the biggest deception in the local church today.

  • oh look, the church of free willy .

  • I don't know who wrote this lame song, but it's wrong on 100 levels. Wonder if these clowns think an aborted baby has "free will."

  • I wonder if Esau likes this song.

  • this is an awesome song... not

  • We DO freely chose but our "Free Will is a SLAVE"... and we FREELY chose what the dictates of our will has determined.... Sin and Selfishness.

Thank you Mr Spurgeon!! FREE WILL A SLAVE!

  • This is bad on so many levels...

  • Beautiful song. It shows the majesty of God in creation and granting free will. We sang this song at summer camp, and have always kept the words in my mind. Thrilled that this is on the internet. Brings back wonderful memories.

  • @thatcher81 Sir, are you a Christian? Seriously...

  • @APSOC38 Yes, I am. And your point...? It is a beautiful song and the words are stirring. However, if you are a religious bigot, then I can understand how the words of this song are over your head. I will admit however, that the quality of the singers is a little off. Further, I do not care about the debate about free will vs. predestination. Further, I agree that this particular Christian college has some odd rules (i.e., no dating) that I would rebel against.

  • At PCC, you get no Free Will because not only is it unaccredited, but it is legalistic. And Legalism destroys our loving relationship with God. I still can't believe that I got in trouble for praying and doing devotionals on their campus.

  • i have no idea what weak god sang this, but not the one who is the Potter

  • im so glad God didnt leave me to choose. Praise Him for His grace

  • @iwaslikepfffft "So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy." Romans 9

  • This song is absolute HERESY!!!!

  • The will is not free - its enslaved to the nature.

However, we are still responsible for our actions

  • Prov.16:9A man's heart devises his way: but the LORD directs his steps.Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.

Proverbs 20:24 A man's steps are directed by the LORD. How then can anyone understand his own way?

Jeremiah 10:23 I know, O LORD, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps.

These verses don't imply man has free will,in fact they declare just the opposite.

  • pcc is a dangerous place for the developing mind

  • This song never fails to crack me up.

  • Anyone notice how little "joy" there is on the faces of the "Joy Quartet"?

  • (cont.) He makes us willing to believe. And the way He does this is by removing our heart of stone and giving us a heart of flesh so that we may truly love and believe in Him.

  • (cont.) In our fallen state, due to our sinful nature, we are not free to obey God's commands. We are, in fact, "dead in trespasses and sins." Dead is dead. Not "sick." We cannot choose God because we would never in a million years do so unless God causes us to choose Him.

  • (cont.) No one in his right mind would demand of someone else that they love him. But God commands this very thing from all of his creation. These Bible verses are completely opposed to the idea that God does not cause us to obey Him.

  • 36 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37 Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." (Matthew 22:36-40)

If anyone else in the world commanded us to love him, we would rightly tell him that was foolish to make such a demand. (cont.)

  • Not only is the theology way off, it is just a terrible song. The tune and the wording is so lame.

  • They are right.

Before we are led by the Spirit we are totally free... to sin in whatever way our sick little minds desire to. And we are free to do everything our heart desires.. which is only evil continually.

This is more sad that funny to me.

  • Bleh! Blasphemy!

God is sovereign and controls EVERYTHING.

  • As a Messianic Jew I have not seen such ignorance. This video is proof that evangelicals DO NOT understand the God of Scripture. This video is proof that a system has been established in order to attack the sovereign God by using pagan Greek philosphy in music. This is not a "christian" group because NO genuine Christian would dare raise their will above the will of God. Free will IS either Molinism or Arminianism and anyone who sings such music is a Roman Catholic at heart.

  • @callednchosen I assure you, this is not what all Christians believe.. I am a professing Christian and I would never be so arrogant to assume that my will conquers God's or that salvation was left up to a depraved human like me. Please, don't let their terrible example shape your view of all Christians.

  • Gay

  • without engaging into the great debate....i would like to say that i find it hilarious that they are preaching free will at PENSACOLA christian college. they are soooooooo strict with all of their rules and regulations, when looking into schools i heard that pcc and bob jones were the worst.

  • This is as aweful as the doctrine. It gives the sense of the limp wristed "savior" it represents.

  • I love they sing in first person as if God is singing this lame song! "I own the cattle on a thousand hills!" "But one thing I can't do, create everything!"

  • This is sickening and horrendous...may God open the eyes of all those that diminish and spit on God's sovereignty...

  • I would have chosen my sin every single time had God not saved me.

  • ‎"Only willing love is worth the price. I'll never force you, for i love you so." Give me a flipping break!!! Ok, if my kid is running towards the outlet with a fork, i'll just say "don't do that honey, listen to me," because i want her obedient love to be willing and not forced. Bull dung!! I am going to run over there and yank her away from the outlet, then spank her tail for not listening to me. If i don't do that, i may not have a kid to love, because they'll die.

  • @1tmoch This whole video is putred. A den of dead mens bones in that church, so bent on tradition and elevating self. Disgusting!! I'd be flipping tables if i were there. They say that was a "college."

  • @1tmoch Lol.. name a date and I'll be there. :P

  • I don't think people who are dead have any will...Lazarus had no choice when the Lord said come forth!

  • I'd be "joyful" too if I could choose God without His help, but I can't, because I'm a sinful human. Maybe they think they can choose Him because they're Pensacola Supermen, but the heart of man is DESPERATELY wicked!

  • P.S. I thought fundamentalists believed that women should be silent in church? What's up with the woman's preaching at PCC?

  • @ValkyrieRides1966 That gal that spoke at the beginning reminded me so much of one of my Popish high school classmates in Western New York.

  • On top of this being horrible music, it's heresy with a laser part on display. Man's will is not sovereign. God is. They sing about Jehovah reigning, and then inform everyone that Jehovah does not reign at all. Man's will does. Run, baby, run. Get out of these places that serve up humanism on a fundamentalist platter.

  • wow, is this what they allow to be taught there? And to think I seriously gave some thought to attending this college... If they give the stage to false doctrine to consume the minds of the student body, I would rather drive to a college close by, and hear the Word of God preached correctly at my own church then sit idle by and let these people preach false doctrine to me. This greatly discourages me.

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack

  • God will only do something if we tell him to?.....good to know God is at all

    mighty man's beckoned call.

  • boys and girls this is what we like to call heresy in song

  • if there was such a thing as hyper-armenianism, i think we just found it.

  • Wow. Bad theology set to music. Nice. I am going with no.

  • Comment removed

  • "I will only do it if you say so" lol... If God works at my bidding...how is he God?

  • @newtonbrook Hey! Don't be knocking them Tim Horton's donuts! They're quite tasty. I know, because I grew up outside of Buffalo.

  • So... PCC is Arminian, huh? Oh boy.

  • @Nilyentaraka that actually explains alot.

  • I heard this song live when I was at PCC. I was an Arminian then. Now I believe the Bible: man's will is in bondage and he cannot even think to choose God. I think they need a little less Mullenix and a little more Edwards.

  • @wallbej We need less Calvin and more Jesus. Reformed theology takes intellectual acrobatics. I agree with J.Mac. It ends in a paradox.

  • @1Atomtan You are right, the intellectual acrobatics you speak of are simply thinking, being as a berean as the Word calls us to do,we need to think,we dont need John Calvin at all, let's just read our Bibles and see if these things be so,and besides please help me understand where the paradox is,,God is Sovereign that's all there is to it,why would anyone want a free will and as a spiritually dead sinner, how can a dead man choose, and if he does choose,he will choose only according to his nature

  • @bobcaldwellrocks The paradox: God would that " none " should perish and and yet God is sovereign. Reformers act as if God is less sovereign for allowing man to choose his own fate. There are so many passages that deal with this in the Bible. The only place I see an group of elect is where Abraham's descendants were elected to bring bring in the gospel and scripture. I can't find a single place where election has anything to do with salvation. Salvation is by grace, through faith. Not election

  • @1Atomtan Context,Peter's letter's 2 Peter3:9 who were/are they addressed to?,the Bible says it's the Church, the Body of Christ,if God "would that none should perish"than none will perish, otherwise if He is unable to accomplish what He would(wills) He would not be Sovereign and therefore not God at all and he will share His Glory with no one,if you would like fell free to share some of the "many passages that deal with this"(from your response),nevertheless,I praise God together with you brother

  • @1Atomtan Maybe you haven't read enough.

Jesus chose to destroy Sodom & Gomorrah rather than to do miracles there, knowing full well that if He did miracles, they would have repented.

    1. Read Gen 19:24

    2. Ask yourself who the 2 "Lords" are.

    3. Read Matt 11:20-27

If that doesn't convince you, read that last line of v27 and me again how salvation has nothing to do with election. Want more? Read John 6 and think about it.

  • @linearconcepts I'll get back to you on your provided scripture. BTW: I don't agree with a single way Pensacola Christian college operate their " business " or the testimony in their local community. This song is terrible also and no human is that sugary sweet. Christian or otherwise.

  • @1Atomtan I know nothing about how Pensecola operates, so I can't comment on that.

My comments are aimed at this song and how its authors have either never read their whole Bibles, or have never tried to make sense of the very many passages that directly contradict this song. They're content to be cherry-picking. And that's not good.

That's why I offered those passages. They force us to deal with the implications of both Jesus' words AND His actions. ..and then apply His mindset.

  • @linearconcepts But that is how PCC rolls. It's run by two old people with no children of their own who think the world can be turned back into 1955. As if 1955 humans were any different than 2011 humans.

  • briancook007 loves to quote stuff!! this is the problem with christians--just quoting, quoting, quoting all day long--shit they've heard since birth--I know I used to be one. think for yourself--use that brain of yours--don't let anyone tell you what to think--i don't get this lamb to the slaughter mindset--it's crazy!!! this follow the bible crap has led to so much hate in this country--hatred of anything that is not like you--such a simple, pedestrian way of life!!!!

  • @jasonweberplayz Sounds like you hate us....pot meet kettle

  • @thesullivankid2425 Norman Geisler and Ergun Caner would agree with you there...

  • this is hideous. What a sad attempt at defacing the sovereignty of God and His election. God isn't at the mercy of His creatures. His creatures cannot make Him a debtor. this is heartbreaking man centered garbage that is nowhere to be found in scripture. The Lion of Judah actually saves men; He doesn't make them "saveable." No man seeks God and no man can come unless God, from His own purposes, Wills Him to live again and repent and believe the gospel.

  • and on top of everything, the soloist can't sing.

  • LMAO! Someone hasn't been reading their Bible. The god they worship is nothing more than their own autonomous "free" will. Talk about being a slave to one's self!

  • LOLOLOLOL i am laughing so hard...LOLOL...thanks for posting this...LOLOL i am still laughing...geez...God owns cattle and controls planets, impressive...man has more freedom than God...OUCH! - someone was pissed off at Calvinism when they made this LOL, how obvious!

oh please, he said "incredible God"? what a joke! i hate this "enabler" god - who all he ever does is "know" stuff and beg. repulsive to God's holiness and what violence to SCRIPTURE! thanks for the humor :>)...got it LOL.

  • HAHAHA!!! Jehovah Reigns! I think that is really funny. "Yes, or no....." Haha. How about "Only willing love is worth the price." How ridiculous.

  • Wow what encouragement for this doctrine!

  • Do they get free donuts?

  • Is Tim Horton the pastor?

  • That's a lot of people in an auditorium

  • I may have heard of it

  • Where is this colllege located?

  • what's a whipperwill?

  • Are they serious?

  • @wow201010

apparently yes. talk about worshiping your own ego. "I'll only do it if you say so." they're kidding, right?

  • great words

  • wow incredible song

  • ummm...what are they teaching down at this school? Here is God's (the bible's) perspective on the freedom that He gives us in 'choosing' Him.

"who were born (again), not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, NOR OF THE WILL OF MAN, but of God. John 1:13"

  • @ProphecyofNewLight Misguided Arminian? Remarkable... you articulate how antithetical the two wills are and yet you still believe it is the fleshly will of man that is the determining factor for faith in Christ. (Predictable) Here-in lies the essential difference between you and me: At night, I can lay my head on the pillow and thank God for the gift of my faith in Christ, for He is the AUTHOR and finisher of my faith...whereas you are in no position to thank Him for that gift. Very lamentable.

  • @ProphecyofNewLight If this is your way of defending this video and its heretical theology, then you have failed miserably. (expected) You play the part perfectly of the disgruntled man's response to the sovereignty of God found in Romans 9:20. It's hard in your pride to let God be God isn't it?

  • Comment removed

  • @Wanetadawn wow... that was quite a leap from the Bible verse I quoted. If you believe that you are the author of your faith in Jesus, then congratulations are in order! You are clearly superior to those who don't possess your spiritual discernment. I personally prefer to give God the glory and thanks for the gift of my faith in Christ, for I believe He is the Author and finisher of my faith. Our 'free will' is exercised everyday in our sin...so I'll take full responsibility for my sin.

  • @ULOOOOZER You narrow-minded Calvinist! What about James 1:18? "In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures." hmm that's not what I meant..I meant Ephesians 2:8 and...wait no..I meant...Arminians stop fighting against the Word of G-d. Submit. You're no more special than I am if you are among the called. For by grace we have been saved through faith and this NOT of ourselves...Soli Deo Gloria

  • @Raistlin49 I hear ya...It gets to be tough being as narrow-minded as John, Paul, Peter, James, Luke, Jesus, etc...but hey...at least I get the joy of thanking God for the gift of the faith I have in Christ. Great passage in James by the way...love it. God bless.

  • Oh, I get it , this is satire.

  • "There is no one righteous, not even one... no one who seeks God.... there is no one who does good, not even one." (Romans 3:10-12).

No one. NOT ONE seeks God. Seeking God to be saved would be a good thing, but "no one does good, not even one". God grants repentance (Acts 11:18, 2 Tim 2:25). Faith is a gift from God (Eph 2:8). Not from works. Seeking would be a work. Therefore those who are saved have been "made alive", enabled to cry out to the God who saved them through Christ.

  • Horrible theology. Typical of what they learned at that place.

  • Unregenerate man absolutely has a free will. By his very nature, man is free to sin & to make all the wrong choices. He is free to be a sinner. He is free to rebel against God. He is free to violate God's principles. He is free to violate the law. That's what free will is, the freedom to do wrong! ROMANS 3;10- 12

  • Even if you choose Christ, it takes all the credit away from us. You see, we want to think that there's a little shred of goodness in us, that made us worthy of salvation. We'd like to think we're save because we were smart enough or spiritually enough or perceptive enough to make the right choice, we choose Him! But what did Jesus say, He said,

  • "You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you." You see, my friend, you can't even take the credit from making the right choice! From start to finish, salvation is God's sovereign work in us according to the riches of His grace. Ephesians 1:4; 2Timothy 1:9

  • @bentotcanada He spoke to Judas in that scripture as well. Are you saying He's saved too? Quit splitting up scripture to fit false doctrine.

    THanks.

  • Mass Murder Timothy McVeigh's last words;

"It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll,

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul."

The fruit of leaving choice in the hands of the sinner rather than the Holy unchanging God.

  • free will the freedom to do wrong.

  • Invictus in song.

  • One of the greatest themes and truths of God's Word? LOL, you gotta be kidding me!

  • Doesn't this do too much for the Arminians? What happens to the idea that all things work together to the good of those who love God? Or how does God claim to govern the universe? I suppose he's not the Soverign King but the Grand Manipulator who has crystal ball fore-knowledge so He can mold things the way He wants it. Yet while claiming we're in charge, in reality He takes all the credit and claims absolute authority. We're more like Pavlov's dog! Total rubbish and unbiblical to the core!!

  • Amen Paul! There heretical teaching is utterly God dishonoring and ridiculous. God bless you.

  • that's horrifying....

  • I would be embarrassed to have sung in that group and sung that song. PCC is a bunch of inbred homeschool children trying to pretend that they're being educated.

  • scriptural basis?

  • Dr. Neal Jackson, former pastor of PCC, is a Calvinist. He quoted John Calvin on a television sermon and left the school a few weeks later.

  • I think I just heard the apostle Paul roll over in his grave. He might have to resurrect early to write another epistle in response to this madness and bring Peter and John along with him.

  • So funny but true

  • Heresy!

  • what a joke. this is so unbiblical... so can I unchoose after I choose...

  • Or you could have said, "I guess since there will be no sin in heaven everyone will be without free will then."

  • ironic that anyone from pcc would sing about free will...jest saying ya know

  • Hearing things like this make me thank God He delivered me from such a twisted doctrine. Keep soteriology theocentric and biblical!! God chose us by His soverign authority! =)

  • It makes me proud to say that I had no part in my own salvation. If I had the slightest role it would never be enough. Only the perfect righteousness of Christ for me, thank you. I wish people would stop limiting God in such distorted ways.

  • JOHN 1:13: who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God

ROMANS 9:15-16: I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOM I HAVE MERCY, AND I WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON WHOM I HAVE COMPASSION." So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy.

By the way, I used the NASB, the Bible Moses used!

  • Actually, Moses wrote in KJV English! :P
