  • In Magnum Force there is no explanation why Harry is back on the force after quitting the force in the end of Dirty Harry.

  • Thanks for posting this. I extracted the sound from the video into an MP3 file and have it as a ringtone on my cell phone.

  • Un finale épique...musique bien climatique...un enfer urbain.

  • IAM, "l'enfer" Dirty harry + JP Sartre + IAM := Epic Win

  • Back before the internet, I used to watch the end credits of DH whenever I caught it just to hear this piece. It perfectly captures the mixed feelings Harry has after he's offed Scorpio.

  • @pjm311 Mixed feelings? He threw his badge into the water. A symbolic gesture of proving that the chief (and everyone else) was right. He was not cut out to be a cop. What he saw everyday was too much for him without taking the law into his own hands. Thus, he quit. This is why sometimes I wish there wasn't sequels. Because it disproves the point the filmmakers were trying to make. The film doesn't glorify vengeance, it shows that people like Harry are wrong, and the law is right.

  • @tylerdurden3891 I thought he quit because he didn't like the system and the fact that criminals get away with everything.

  • @tom89zigman Yes, that as well. But the overall message that the director was trying to make was: the system may be flawed, but the system is still right in the sense that putting the law into your own hands is wrong. Harry understood this after committing murder, and quit his job after being enlightened. By making sequels, it totally negates the lesson the film was trying to make. But, for what it's worth, I still love the films. I just look at it as a "what if" sorta thing lol.

  • @tylerdurden3891 Now I get it and I totally agree.

  • "A man's got to know his limitations."

  • @Grepple1234 No arguement.

  • French Rap : IAM-L'enfer (1997)

  • n1 thx man

  • Very lonely sounding piece!

  • This led to one of the grittiest movie series ever.. A beautiful marriage between music & acting, that will live forever!!

  • Hip hop version of this tune : watch?v=hCvbEn56EZo&feature=related

  • Noir gives me wood. :D

  • this is amazing

  • What a lovely and sublime song.

  • Was looking for this because it's so awesome, thanks for uploading!

  • the french rap band IAM used the melody in some song called "L'enfer"

  • Sad song but i love it!!

    Long Life for Eastwood!!

  • wonderful wonderful xylophone entrance at the beginning....

  • Thanks for the post. Seeing Dirty Harry for the first time as a teen, and how it ends, and how I felt, with my mouth slightl open thinking "Mannnn.........", then this incredibly peaceful tune, sounding like all was ok again now that Scorpio was gone, was just awesome. Few films have EVER cought the emotion of the moment, quite like the DH ending.

  • God, I've been looking for this forever. THANK YOU for posting!!

  • @tylerdurden3891 Happy to help :)

  • Terrific music.

  • Sample Original utilisé par I AM pour le titre "L'enfer" sur L'école du micro d'argent...

  • Oh, lovely! Thanks so much! Every time I listen to this piece of music I feel such overwhelming sadness for Harry. Yeah, he finally got Scorpio but he had to go through so much crap to do it... he's so disgusted and defeated at the end...

  • Brilliant upload!

  • @orgasmicide2 is it too much to ask for both? hahaha no hippies and no disco please! xD

  • ah i luv u thx fr putting up I searched everywhere!!!

  • @Onepieceiscool1 you're welcome! :)

  • I felt so emotional right at the end of the movie where Harry throws his badge into the water and walks off and this little piece played quietly behind. To me,this one minute long music is million times better than most of the crap music out there today.

  • @foodafokkarez damn straight

  • to me, this is a symbol of Dirty Harry loosing his faith in the justice system.

  • the gloomey end of the 70's

  • @OsanBlackCat5RS

More like the beginning of the 70's, Dirty Harry is from 1971.

I wouldn't call it gloomy either, it's a hauntingly beautiful piece of music.

  • :*(

  • good melancolic shit

  • Should be respected as much as Morricone imo....awesome soundtrack to an immense movie.

  • "IAM : L'ENFER"

  • Thank you so much, been searching half my life for this.

  • @ IIIJFRIII

Cool, glad that I could help out! :)

  • You got that right!

  • This is just brilliant!! I get chills when I hear it

  • lalo schifrin is a giant composer!!!

  • this one is the best one fav of all dirty harry song things

  • Love this one. The music just made the ending with its eerie-ness. Lalo would reuse it for the sequels but didn't have the impact it does here. Thanks for posting!

  • Yeah the last scene goes down as one of my favs from the 70's.
