Every video that I have watched on this subject, the person is mopping across the grain! I just makes more sense to follow the grain, at least in my opinion.
WATER IS THE WORST ENEMY FOR WOOD....ALWAYS RING OUT MOP AND DRY FLOORS IMMEDIALTELY AFTER WASHING FLOORS.....NEVER JUST MOP THE FLOORS AND LEAVE...IT WILL EVENTUALLY WARP THE WOOD.
As a Certified Wood Flooring Inspector I have seen the finish on many wood floors DESTROYED from using oil soap! Remember, you are not cleaning wood as in kitchen cabinets or furniture. You're cleaning the several coats of durable urethane finish on the board. Use only the manufacturers recommended wood cleaner.
No Mfrs recommend the use of oil soap or Orange Glow. If you use these and your floor is inspected

for finish problems, your claim will be declined.
Hope this helps you.

I love this stuff. I hear things that say you should NOT use an oil soap..then I hear you should. ahh so confusing. But I do use it, and I love it
