I read some of the comments...and even you seemed to say it isn't likely to ever happen. I disagree. I think we will eventually become everything this song says. I believe we are in our infancy as a species. It may not be possible for some to imagine us ever reaching these ideals, but I can. And I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us...I believe someday, we will all live as one...literally. I still believe your version captures the essence of the song as well as the original. hugs

Thank you. I always believe that songs should not just be sung, they should be expressed. That's what the words are there for. If we interpret them to events in our own lives it makes it possible to put real feeling into the expression.

I admire your faith in humanity. It's something I do not share and that's really why I am left to imagine the utopia that this song suggests :)

I watched a dozen covers of this song but could not listen to one of them all the way through because of flat or sharp notes, wrong tempo, too much ego, etc. It was very disappointing. They all seemed to be singing it without feeling it; going through the motions without understanding. Big productions, or screaming crowds. Shameful. Then I watched yours. Your facial expressions made clear to me you get it. You hit all the notes, but most of all you brought humility to it. Thanks. peace, friend.

Was just going to let you know that I was browsing youtube (out of boredom) for a decent, Real cover to this song. Out of the Glee renditions and a few others (which were good) you are the only I personally believe did it right. To me, this song isn't meant to have powerful accompaniment whether it be vocal or instrumental. It's a simple message presented in a simple way.

Lennon would have listened with a smile.

I never cared for this song, it's an impossible premise! Even animals in nature have a heirarchy!! Do we really want to go back and live in trees?? Also it seemed that you didn't have your heart in it, even though you did a good job!

You know I'm inclined to agree with you. I see the song as idealistic. I've always loved the song but my interpretation is that you were being asked to "Imagine" it, because the likelihood of it ever happening in real life is remote. So my attitude while singing was hopefully mean to reflect that.

You don't have to learn to love your own voice. You just have to learn to accept it because it's not what you think of it that matters. It's what other people think. Ask any singer if they like their own voice and nearly all of them will say no. That includes musicians with major success :)

Thank you Jack, although I have to admit that there are a number of covers I do that I use backing tracks in. This is one of them. The skills used in this are more to do with post production and mastering :)
