hey dude make a solo and sweep picking tutorial or something i watched another one and it just didnt make sense....urs sounded a lot closer than his did.
shit how often do u practice? im 9 months and half as good as u... i guess u could say ive SERIOUSLY started playing guitar since like february but then again id have 7 more months to go... how can i accelerate my guitar speed with sweeps and stuff... practice alot? check my vids

also, anyone who think doesnt like a7x because they are 'commercial' has issues. if u havnt noticed, just because a band is famous, or more harshly put, "sold out" doesnt mean that they are bad. avenged sevenfold is one of the best bands today, and they deserve to be recognized, and not criticized for this. thankyou.
youre totally right. when a person is self taught, they realize certain aspects of guitar playing(such as techniques such as vibrato) at their own pace, which is best because it lets them develop their skills naturally. and i have to sya youre a very talented musician and you have a bright future ahead of you.

But i have 4 years of alto sax playing to back up my hand coordination =]. and of course 1 1/2 hour practices every day lol. well sicfreak91 great job man. but when i'm sweep picking it seems easier when i roll my hand up and down with my picking. but whatever work for u man.

As for insulting people's musical tastes, no one cares what you think. The person obviously likes the band and you telling them that that band sucks will fall on deaf ears... on that note, Slipknot sucks a big one.

try a metranome!
they work if you find a shred lick andgradually build up the speed you will find your playing improves fast

and the only part i screwed up on the sweeping was the second arpeggio. The rest was good. And thoses arpeggio shapes are not wrong
