my favourite version , they were really good live then, full of blood n thunder , very passionate and motivated... plus jazz is a huge occultist , so theres always somthin to natter about when your on a bus in germany and driving for two days solid ... good times .... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz wheres me coa coa
This version is fantastic, definitely better than the original single version. But I still prefer the 1980 album version. Sorry to differ w/ Mr. Youth. =P
yeah, I was there. Think their first album was a bit of a dissapointment compared to early singles and peel sessions. Now Im a 48 year old Buddhist....... Eh !!
@katrastrophy Was raised a catholic, just read a book on Buddhism and made sense to me. Have visited few Buddhist centres and generally good vibe and people. Do get the odd arse hole and are some dodgy breakaway groups and cults that call themselves Buddhist. Am currently with karma Kagyu scholl of Tibetan Buddhism. Take care and any questions please ask, John.
@karmajod and from the looks of the attack from this guy'bingsy100", I won't be asking any questions here. Thanks anyhow. People are just mad for no good reason.
@LeGronk I really don't care so much as not wanting to fall into some dialog with some nutter(that guy). I really just came here for the music(great upload)and was curious about something,so I asked .
I also have noticed every so often I get a 'random' attack from some cad with a spare channel to harass folks...maybe a trend? Thanks all the same though.
Does anyone remember the huge CND demo in trafalgar square - so many punks - the politicos talked - and talked - some one was in the midst of something - and then Killing joke just started off with this ... and the punks wardanced ...
@AxeManJax That's good. I have got a ticket for London. I know they will do the old numbers justice just not keen on the Metal direction they have taken . Thanks
still makes me want to "slam" there is nothing as exhilerating as music that tells it like it is! i'm going all the way to cali to see them in december! Icant wait!
"try to be honest... look what you did!!!" - Take heed Gordon Brown, these guys must've known all those years ago that you were gunna send the country to pot
This band get totally over looked when those 'history of punk' banwagon shows roll around every five or so years which is wrong because they had/have such an impact on punk, but I spose including them would interfere with the 'dead in 78' nonsense that the music media like to propogate.
@HawK047 Punk was still alive and kicking when this lot were going, it was selling more records than in 77 as a genre (whatever you want to call it), the only 'post' punk was then was post-media interest.
@dortyhoor post-punk is still alive and well mate in the thousands (well maybe hundreds) of real punks brought up and living on a diet of killing joke, exploited, crass, subhumans and the tonnes of other brilliant DIY bands. punk is the strongest subculture ever to emerge through music and is still going strong
@falkinerkeith unfortunately no, it's all gone! theres maybe some underground acts lurking around but it is nothing compared to the 70s n 80s., just glad iw as born in 77 to at least get a taste of it
dom knew the wizard, dom knew jaz and pig youth, dom threw drink on me at a party held by motorheads tour manager ( 51 ladbroke grove) we were 16 ..I got him back in trhe Alex aND WAS bEAT UP he is in Jamaica now..lucky Dom..... sTeve
@vivellasmum I was'nt there for long, I stayed with Motorheads tour maager courtesy of two geordie punks called Liz and Joy but not for long, it was 1981 and I was 16
@peepingtom19 He must've been a legend if he chose this song for his funeral. I bet he's cracking a cold one with Paul Raven right now. RIP to him indeed.
i once heard a story about a bloke in china in the early 80s who used to fill public squares with hundreds of people in minutes by slam dancing to this to his tape player until the cops rolled up...
Excellent! That's just what this song needed, a little more speed, I miss the effects on the voice though but this is a very good version anyway. Thanks
Youth could well be right as John Peel had this in his festive 50, it is shit hot.

penandwhiteout 1 year ago
@penandwhiteout you youngsters may call it moshing.
zZoiks 1 year ago
@zZoiks Moshing is ruined. Every kid thinks he has to go and try to "accidentally" bust someones face with their fists. We should go back to pogoing.

@HawK047 i agree with that, although a good slam pit is a good slam pit.
