This isn't, however, to say i don't like this. Far from it, this is the finest metal rearrangement of FB I've ever heard, and zone 2 has NEVER been done better. The drums SLAM, especially the main zone 1 bassline as exemplified at 0:12. Remixers take note, that hardcore beat is what makes Flying Battery Zone 1 one of the best tracks in the entire Sonic franchise. Color me impressed. Sub'd.
you're sooooo close to knocking this one out of the park... a little more distortion on the leads and a little less synth, and i have to wonder what you were thinking at 2:13. It broke my heart a little hearing the musical equivalent of a smash cut from nearly the peak of awesomeness to a comparatively watered down trance mix. Flying Battery has been done to death in that style (and only once properly, by Beatdrop watch?v=hd8sAPGOvX4 ).
Truly impressive. The dynamic range of this remix pulled me in, especially the break at 1:14. I can see why this is being compared to Project Chaos. I LIKEDED IT. Howard Drossin would approve I'm sure.
Finally a remix comparable to Dead Batteries by Snappleman! Sure it sounds a little similar but it was still awesome to listen to. Thanks for uploading and good job!
It's a good effort, but I noticed the drums don't always sync with the guitar.
Nice drum samples! Is this done in FL? What instrument did you use? Drummax?
Another thing - this remix has a LOT of riffs in common with Dead Batteries by Snappleman... I'm tempted to say you copied him, but you're a pretty good arranger, so it's possible you just came up with the same thing.
So, small question. Is this your gameplay in the background? Because you seem to know exactly how long your song is going to be before you make it, if that's the case.
Omg, absolutely incredible!!! o_O Your playing is mind-blowing dude; not only that, but your arranging skills are also fantastic. The variety of personal touches you included in this is so awesome to listen to. Completely badass once again O_o Love it, faved.
@TheJonnyDeath Well then I greatly look forward to hearing Doomsday Zone, as it is probably my favorite sonic theme and I'm sure you rendition will be just brilliant.
I always preffered act 2's version

2:13 - 2:34 This part ruined the song >_>

@MarioFanLevelz I disagree. 3:24 was the part that ruined the song.

Hmm... do you play the guitar, or is that programmed?
Also, that part at around 2:13 made me think of how cool a cel shaded sonic game would be.
jwaffe 1 year ago
@jwaffe
Yes, I do. Nothing is programmed in any of my stuff (except some things in 'Shinra Corporation'), it's what I take pride in most. :)
And yes, a cel shaded Sonic game could prove most interesting!

@TheJonnyDeath Cell Shaded Sonic-game exists, Sonic Shuffle for SEGA Dreamcast.
I have to state that this might be the best Flying Battery remix I've ever herd!

@jwaffe
I played the drums on a Roland V-Drum kit, they are not programmed. Also, I have never heard 'Dead Batteries'.
Thanks for your input!

@jwaffe Is it really so surprising that two arrangements of the same source song done in the same style would sound similar? :P

I was really hoping for Doomsday Zone but honestly, this surprised me with how good it was. Really stellar job on Flying Battery Zone anyway, though.
I'm incredibly excited for Attack of the Koopa Bros. for obvious reasons.
