The private landlords dont give a damn and just cash in(and live in luxury miles away)why cant they pay one of there tenants to clean up and keep things in a decent state.Nobody should have to live like this,definately not children.

Have lived in Govanhill most of my life. Luckily not in this side of Govanhill. The sight of the close and backcourt is disgusting. But the people living there are the ones that have made this mess. Why is this allowed to happen this is one of the reasons our area is in the state it is in. The private landlords should be made to pick up the tab for cleaning this up. God help the people who have lived in these closes for year, they were all well kept, elderly people are still there cant get out

@flossybagpiper I agree with you. I lived my whole life in Govanhill and it was a beautiful place, esp Allison Street, which is a filthy place now. I hope Asda and Lidl and the new Safeway at DM Hoeys will shut all these dumps down that ring the area down. The Glasgow City council has to spend some of the dame money they took from the EU for housing the new population as well. Instead of shutting down the Public Baths they should be opening more.
