I've had the GBA SP and I now own the Micro. I gotta say, I prefer the Micro. Its pretty incredible. I can literally kick it across the room and not worry. I think its a pretty essential system. You could always just toss it in your pocket and replay the classics.
@Zunecrazy - well everyone has their own opinions but the micro... well isn't really incredible as you put it, in fact it's more of GBA lacking and striped of more modern GB abilities at it's time, the SP gives you the best of all and is the best for it(if you read my first comment you would see why)
rather then buying a micro especially at the time it came out you were better off getting the DS or if you waited a little longer the DS light since they too only play GBA but can also play DSgames
in other words... if want the BEST GBA experience and all of their experience... one that was designed better, built better, preforms better, and is smarter then all the other GB, get the SP, the micro is ONLY worth buying if your a GB collector and it has to be a limited edition green or 20th Anniversary other wise your really wasting your TIME and MONEY on a surprisingly more expensive system(only because it's newer)

@KILLSHOCK1100 I agree. The GBA SP is the best for a collector. I own the Kingdom Hearts edition myself. In its time, the Micro certainly would not have been a smart buy. By today's standards (to me), Micro would be an essential system in terms of just how practical it is. Even though the system is great, I couldn't imagine carrying an SP with my Droid and my 3DS. One little advantage that the Micro also had made all the difference in the world to me was that it had an actual 3.5mm headpone jack

the SP could just simply fold like a lab-top or a flip phone to hide and protect it's much bigger screen from scratches(no replacements of a shell or small plastic over it) smarter and cheaper

It was my favorite handheld, I feel bad that I had to sell it. I'd play on my work shift, and it was so easy to hide, lol. Actually, I had the "basic version", without the possibility to change faceplates...
i love how you can change face plates easily. i wish psp would do that because i HATE how much dust gets behind the screen. and if u try taking the faceplate off u lose your warranty. fuck you sony.
The micro is sometimes to small for my hands, and on the SP my hands are all cramped up as well. The original Game Boy Advance was the best. It didn't hurt your hands, it had a screen just as big as the SP, but didn't have a back light :(
If they remade the Game Boy Advance, I'd definitely buy it again.

Here's my situation, if anyone's reading this....Pokemon HG & SS are coming out soon, & i'm gonna go to GS to reserve it ASAP. I have $60 from Xmas still, so it's enough to get the game. Unfortunately, my DSi broke, & I have to save up money for that too. but with the $20 left over, i'm wondering if I can get the Game Boy Micro....it's been 2 years since this video, & the GBM was $50. Is it still $50 now, or did the price drop? If so, please tell me so I can figure out if I can get it or not.
@Miyakinnn, It'll be hard to find a GBM. Back then, there was a GBM in every store and at $50, it was a steal. I'm looking for a GBM right now and I've found prices as high as $300! If you can find some guy who owns one, you should take it, since the only ones I've found were on eBay and old gaming stores.
No, I am not kidding. If you want a brand new one, you will need to spend an arm and a leg. $50 will get you a scratched up screen and probably no charger for it. I've been looking at more than 8 sites for retailers and they're all pretty high up.
I gotta get this. I play a lot of gameboy advanced games like Zelda minish cap and stuff and I'm 11 and I've had my SP since I was 5, and back then unfortunately I must have chewed on those rubber thingeys in the inside top corners. Also the paint is wearing away and I sweat of the barcode and serial number. It even has a 4 year old sticker on the front saying SAVE TREES DONT DO HOMEWORK.

Yeah, but Micro is GBA system - legendary, nor like psp. And.. Whole Micro is size of psp screen, it's just the smallest handheld in the world ;p I own one.
the micro is perfect if your eyes can handle the size of the screen. the backlighting far surpasses the capabilities of the sp even at the lowest setting.

Good choice. Have a psp for 2 years now, and bearly played it at all!! after trading in my ds for it.
But one day i saw a micro in gamestation for 15 quid with wario land 4 and super mario advance 4, and havent put it down since! Brilliant system!

Yeah, but Micro is GBA system - legendary, nor like psp. And.. Whole Micro is size of psp screen, it's just the smallest handheld in the world ;p I own one.

the micro is perfect if your eyes can handle the size of the screen. the backlighting far surpasses the capabilities of the sp even at the lowest setting.
it is perfect for super mobile gaming.
