  • Now I know why women are always late for everything! .. :) worth the wait!

  • As Howard Thompson said: "The world's worst, and don't you miss it!" Absolutely hilarious send up of Jeanette Macdonald. From lovely kitsch to horrifying narcissism in a decade! A low camp classic, and why is she incessantly looking at her derriere?

What a scream. I think I'll have to watch it again!!!!

  • Ela sempre foi maravilhosa!!!

  • Deanna Durbin was way ahead of me in time but such talent is timeless. What a beautiful woman and voice!!

  • Amazing, incredible...

I can´t even find a good enough word to discribe how good Deanna`s voice is.

  • great video .... am so glad to have found it. We need more Rodgers & Hart stuff on YT! Durbin's voice is tremendous ... great control and right on to those notes ....

  • This is wonderful. I love this song, and Deanna´s rendition of it is marvelous.

  • first time i heard durbin. she is great.******great arrangement. thanks for posting. ROGHARM

  • What movie is this scene with deanna from?

  • Because of Him - 1946

  • Wonderful song.....please can someone tell me if exsists anywhere the Alfred Hitchcock's rear window's instrumental version? is that a Franz Waxman arrangement only for that movie sequence or is it an official recorded version that i can take somewhere?

    thanks!

  • Modern music is worthless in comparison to stuff like this.

  • I totally agree. One has to respect how much blatant romantic influence is in the early part of the 20th century. It makes for some great stuff. :)

  • Laughton is this film à la Sacha Guitry is genial...thanx a million

  • I love Sonny Clark's version of this, the higher tempo gives it another feeling.

  • What film is this?

  • Divine!

  • I love the progressions. Darbin's harmonizing at the beginning and the pizzicato strings are gorgeous. I can't find a word to describe them. Ecstatic? It's that elegant beauty you find in neoclassical music hidden behind form. It gives me goosebumps, besides the fact that it revels in its own banality. I can't help it either, though. It reminds me of similar unexpected harmonies in "Do I Love You Because You're Beautiful?" Can anyone recommend me some songs with similar harmonies?

  • Your sense of beauty has been fatally damaged by exposure to contemporary kitsch. So sad,,,

  • How can you say that? It is so beautiful and moving.. and Deanna could make any song beautiful

  • What a wonderful song !

  • absolutely brilliant, thank you.

  • BEAUTIFUL... what a magnificent voice and lovely song..... I love this video thank you so much for posting it.

  • Again stuck for words, blown away by such a beautiful and talented woman.. x love you always. The Angels are lucky to have you up there with them.

  • The Angels will indeed have Deanna someday, but for now she is still alive and well, having just turned 87. She is retired, living just outside of Paris.

  • Brilliant, love this video, thank you

  • I'm playing this piece as a jazz trombone solo - except the main melody (in this video from begining to 1:15) is over in about 1 minute, then it's 3 minutes of pure impro =)

  • Roger,Hart and Durbin.....all very talented people.Thanks.

  • Very, very nice performance by precious Deanna!
