Thanks Bud, as you may know I use tto play steel for your hero Frank Ifield. It's only now I have the time to learn some new tunes after years on the road with Frank..John Roche
John : This has to be one of the finest versions I've had the pleasure of hearing. One of my all time favorites. Pleased that Bent had requested your performance of this number. Bent knows good music, when he hears it. And I do , too. Send some more, John.. Bernie
Thanks Bernie, I don't play many tunes , I'v allways been a backup player. hope to get a few more up soon, If you look me up under "derfdv" on youtube there are a few of me with Frank Ifield and Barbary Coast...
Hi John,Thanks so much for playing this one like you promised me you would. I must say that you did a great job. What's that about your left arm? Whatever your problem, it sure does not display itself in your bar control. I played the vid many times and have nothing adverse to report. Of course you know it best yourself ...but all I know is what I hear and see: Your picking and bar handling is of pro quality and I for one ask you for more, more!
Thanks Bent , I am suffering from a lot off pain from my neck down both arms with the loss of a lot of feeling in my left arm and hand, feel numb. I recodered it with my new Alesis USB 2.0 8 multimixer. direct in to Audition, then double tracked it by playing it again, I was trying to get a different sound for the tune. I plugged into Line in 5 and set the Hi eq to 10 o clock. mid at 11 o clock and the low 12 o clock, sounds good in the cans... John
Any special reason you plugged into Line in 5?(as opposed to 1) Well, it's stereo. Is that why? I'll try those settings some day, but that was with your Sierra, and a swear that steel has a unique sound.
I have no control over it , but what the hell llfe is what you what put into it . I'm still here picking and a grinning, for what it's worth. as Micky Newbury said 'you only live once in a while '
Oh wow this is fabulous. I'm glad I stumbled across this. I love to hear the steel guitar and Farewell Party is one of my all time favourites.

Just beautiful John. Sounds great way up here in Tennessee. Dont believe that even our Nashville has any picker that sounds as fine as your playing.

Hi John,
So now we have identical Alesis units then.
Any special reason you plugged into Line in 5?(as opposed to 1) Well, it's stereo. Is that why? I'll try those settings some day, but that was with your Sierra, and a swear that steel has a unique sound.
