When I saw this news at CNN and Youtube, I said "Oh my God, am I really seeing this?". Good thing I've seen the original King Kong.

when i watched the fire on the news, i actually cried...think of the studios that were damaged! and we lost this part of the tram ride!! although im only a teen, i was heartbroken that some history was gone for good..... ._. RIP

When was this ride built? This seems more like a King Kong ride which is based upon the 1976 version, not the 2005 version.. But I don't know..

Back to the Future didn't burn down, it was replaced with The Simpsons. The news was reporting that the BTTF Clock Tower set (facade) burnt down, it didn't, I saw it this weekend.

I just found out that they're replacing King Kong!

Workers were placing in components on top of the sound studio (roofing of some sort) with a blow torch. They followed regulations to monitor it for 1 hour after they set it in then they went on a break. It caught fire right after the workers went on their break when it was reported by the security guard that smoke was rising from the sound studio. Damage includes- loss of soundstage housing King Kong (seen in video), video vault, Back to the Future plaza and 2 blocks worth of stages.

There are no reasons yet. There was a commercial shoot going on. It started in the NY Area of the back lot. Lost was the court house square (famous from the Back to the Future movies), King Kong, and some other buildings/sets including a back up video vault. - - RU
