  • She needs to be more real..cut the fakeness.

  • Continued: I hope someday you are afflicted with a physical issue that prevents you from engaging in normal activities with your friends and relatives. You richly deserve the frustration and disappointment that accompanies it. Maybe you should also consider some anger management classes?

  • Continued: In order for all members in society, no matter the disability, to have the rights to function, accommodations must be made. I have a disability. I am not asking to be seated before you, or for my food to come out before yours, but for extra care and precautions in the preparation process so that I will not die, just like you will not die after you eat.

  • I like this girl...

  • how to fill a refill for a customer?

Simply put more drink in their cup.

  • I am always appreciative of servers who ask about allergies. It puts me at ease knowing that they are aware of the seriousness of my condition, and already have plans in place to deal with it properly. Life-threatening allergies make eating out a stressful ordeal and servers like Carrera951 make it much more enjoyable. I'm very sorry if my server's efforts to avert my death cause you to lose out on ranch dressing.

  • number 1 tip for getting big tips.....be a hot chick. A guy I work with knows a girl who works at Buffalo Wild Wings who works about 25 hours a week and makes 1,000 a week. It's BW, so it's not like she's particularly great at her job or that the tabs are so big that 15% each time is a lot.

  • Actually, She has a point. Where I work, most people ask for the marsala without mushrooms because they don't like the texture, but a few are allergic. Problem being, that the mushrooms are cooked with the sauce at the begining of the shift so they wouldn't know that there actually is mushroom in the sauce even if they ask for no mushrooms..If they are allergic they have to change the sauce as well. Plus, it tells you if they order something else and they are not aware, you can point it out.

  • I misspell words, but everything I write makes sense and is legible. You make sense some of the time. I can emphasize my points without resorting to the caps lock key.

"Equal" is no necessarily "the same." The whole basis of the argument you just posted is a fallacy. If it were a life and death situation with you, I would treat you with priority as well.

Please stop responding with 22 posts filled with childish name-calling. Its too much stupidity for one reading.

  • Its irrelevent which server you request, they all hate you. Your service suffers as a result. In reality you are the foremost reason you get bad service when you do.

You're missing the big picture here.

  • I can't understand how you can be so thick headed as to not understand why getting an allergic person's food right is a priority. I've explained it so many times, not to mention its common sense.

Clearly, I'm not going to treat everyone exactly the same way, thats not what people want. Thats obvious, did you really have to spend like 17 posts on that point?

You're ignorant about life in general, not about the menu at Chilis, I though that would be clear, but with you, one never knows.

  • You have by far the most horrendous writing style I've ever come across. Several other people have mentioned it, so why not put some effort into it?

I've told you at least 6 times in 6 separate posts why I used 40$ in that example. I've broken it down into language a simple child could understand. Money is a good way to quantify the level of service; this is true for all business. I care about good service for my guests in general, and in that one example used money to quantify it.

  • My spelling is far from perfect, I dont run my posts through spell check, however my posts are always legible and clear. I know when to capitalize letters ect...

If I were to look for errors within your posts, I could write a 5-page paper on how incorrect your writing is. To the point where its not at all comprehendible at times.

Not to mention that you feel the need to repeat the same 3 points, 24 times in 16 posts each time you sit in front of the computer. Like some broken record.

  • You will get what you want, has it ever happened that you haven't eventually recivied what you'd like. So you waited a little extra, thats the price you pay for wanting it your way.

They probably hate you guts at the restaurants you go to, so they stick you in the new servers section. Mistakes are rare with experinced servers.

I do treat my customers equally, expect you dont know anything about me, so how would you know. Even someone as ignorant and as picky as you I would treat equally.

  • Proved me wrong? You cant even form a complete sentence. I have a lack of comprehension? Please tell me english is not your first language.

The ribs come with enough BBQ sause, a Cheff, read culinary expert, someone who went to school to learn how to cook, portioned that sause. You didnt even learn to write in school.

Its OK that you'd like to change the menu item, just understand that you've raised your chances of someone messing up the order significantly.

  • Youre just simply making sure you get more than everyone else, its your way of proving to yourself that your someone important, when in actuality you are an absolute nobody. Worse, you are an arrogant, ignorant, selfish, dumb nobody.

  • You really show your lack of intelligence by the horrendous way you type. Not to mention that you resort to cussing because you are angered by your own incompetence. Plus your lack of ability to comprehend how making sure no one dies is more important than making sure your picky ass gets an extra BBQ sauce.

  • "I can't help I don't like certain foods you HALF WIT UNCARING BITCH!!"

Uh yes you can, order what is on the menu. You always refer to the menu, trust me your server probably knows it better than you do, why not just order whats on the menu, like a normal person.

  • "ON THE SIDE" instead of "SIDES" of bbq sauce."

That whole order is confussing. Yes the server should have repeated back the order, but you also should have clarified. You didnt, as a result you got the wrong order. Tough. Your as guilty as the server in question.

All you had to say was extra BBQ on the side. You chose to make it difficult, and you call that server stupid. You are the idoit trying to explain something in as many words as possible.

  • "I'm not prepared to tip a server well"

We've been through this one, I dont care about your tip, you wont make or break me.

Since there is so few people as picky as you, you're a statistical outlier if you will, it really doesnt matter if you tip at all. The tips from normal people more than make up for it.

  • "I HAVE SERVED CUSTOMERS BEFORE FOR OVER 2 YEARS off and on between 1998-2002."

"I was counterhelp at a donut shop."

Wow, one thing has nothing to do with the other.

    Completely different

Everyone in the service industry works with customers, no shit. You dont have a chance at making it as a waitress. You know nothing about the job.

    Clueless

  • A person that has a food allergy could die if they come in contact with that particular food. Die.

    You arrogant, selfish, snob.

You dont think thats more important than anything else?

If a person had a food allergy I go tell the Chef and he'll make sure to change cutting boards, knives, gloves, anything that may have come in contact with the food the person is allergic to.

That person has an illness they cant help, unlike you, you picky, whiny, half wit.

  • You calling it a condiment container is relevent because no one with serving experince would call it that.

I go out a lot by the way, probably more than you, you have no idea what its like from the other side. Its clear from the way you look at service like a little kid, like the world revolves around you.

  • How can you not appreciate how long it would take to ask every table all these questions. Thats simply unreasonable, just like most of what you expect from service.

I judge what kind of service my guests would want by how they respond to me greeting them, but I'm not a mind reader.

The only time I'll always ask something is if you ask to leave something off a plate, I'll ask you if you have any allergies I should be aware of.

I expect you to tell me if your particular about anything.

  • "WHO says what a server "SHOULD" be doing? WHO ARE YOU TO TELL THE CUSTOMER WHAT **THEY** WANT IN ***THEIR*** SERVICE ***THEY ARE PAYING FOR, NOT YOU**?"

Uhh, your the only person I've ever come across that gets annoyed and considers it bad service if your server refills drinks without asking.

I've worked in this field a long time, been through countless training programs at restaurant, trained other servers, ect.

Its just not something you come across often.

  • Your argument has devolved into repeating your same two points in about 30 posts each time you go online.

You say that you had experince in the field, all be it some burger joint. Even thats in question considering you call ramekins "condiment containers."

Your telling me you never made mistakes there?

You didnt see any good servers who always just bring people drinks without asking repeatedly like some robot machine "would you like a refill? would you like a refill?'

  • if u want ur drink to be refilled on ur terms i suggest u dine at mcdonalds or stay at home bc with that attitude at a restuarant ur drink being refilled is the least of ur worries u might wanna be more concerned about what's floating in ur drink.

  • my husband and i were both dining room managers for a fairly large casual dining restuarant while we were in college. if u had complained to one of us we might have said something to shut u up but i GUARANTEE we wouldn't have fired a server for doing her job. surely ur not ignorant enough to believe that u got waitresses fired bc they refilled ur drink i think ur full of it! after we shut u up we would have all had a good laugh at ur expense!

  • "We have a number of times eaten at fine dining restaurants and NEVER ONCE did the servers refill drinks without asking first!! "

What you ordered coke there? Classy. How many othere people where there drinking coke?

  • You could never get me fired. I'd probably call the cops, or at least the phyc ward.

I'm selfish because I refuse to annoy everyone else with useless crap only care about?

You expect the world to revolve around you and your twisted expectation of good service which isnt in the slightest bit in line with what a waiter should be doing?

I make people happy all day long. Its why I do my job.

You think I'm lazy and uncaring if I dont ask you about your coke?

    I really couldnt care less.

  • "THEN DON'T EXPECT A TIP THEN!!"

I dont expect or want a tip from the likes of you.

    You can shove that tip.

If you didnt come to my restaurant at all I wouldnt shed a tear.

  • "I served people at a donut shop"

    lol

  • "I DO KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT."

    lol

  • "I have read online"

    lol

  • "First off I am a woman."

    doesnt surprise me

  • Springs131 - "You don't need to finish high school even to be a server, that's how stupid you are!! "

I finished enough school to learn how to type in a legible fashion, my english teacher taught me all about when I should use capital letters.

Thats irrelevent though, you could go to Yale and you'd still leave just as ignorant. You'd probably be even more arrogant too, if thats possible.

  • Springs131 - "You would ASK the customer if they want refills without being asked throughout their service to know if they want that type of service or not. EVERYONE is different and should be served that way. "

    No you shouldnt.

A lot of things in life are meant to have the greatest good for the greatest number of people. Thats life. Your mom didnt teach you these things?

  • Comment removed

  • Springs131 - "Instead it supposed to be based on what the ***INDIVIDUAL CUSTOMER WANTS*** since we all are DIFFERENT in this world and want different things, different ways."

    Then get a servent.

This a restaurant, not some personnal service shit, the ones you go to especially

  • Springs131 - "If that were soooo true, then WHY don't MOST servers do that, huh?"

cause you go to applebees and chilis, training there involves the head server telling you to "sink or swim"

You probably wouldnt know fine dining if a salad fork hit you in the head.

  • Thats not to say there is no common sense involved, if your done eating and not in a converstation then I'll probably ask if you'd like another deit coke. If you've already had 6 then I'll wait for you to ask me.

Keep in mind that a server may have 5-10 tables he or she is taking care of at that time. Thats like 40 people mostly at different points in the experince and they all want something. Right now.

    This involves serious multitasking.

  • This is how waiters are taught, EVERYWHERE, WORLDWIDE. If you dont like I'm so very sorry, that really is how life goes.

Its based on research, and years and years of experince on what normal people want from a dinning experince. Very, very, very few guests switch up drinks. We dont have time to wait till you finish your conversation to ask, so we just see it empty and fill it, if you dont want it we throw it away.

  • The waiter is not supposed to intrupt on the conversation between the guests at the table.

Your server really is supposed to have as least interaction with you as possible, be part of the backdrop and ambiance of the restaurant. While you are to enjoy the company of your guests.

Thats not to say a server shouldnt talk to his or her tables. If you start a conversation with me I'll be more than happy to talk to you about almost anything. However the waiter isnt supposed to initiate.

  • Springs131, bro you clearly dont know what your talking about. Even if you did, which you dont, trust me, your plan is to go online and teach people how you like to be served in the hope that they may serve you one day.

We are proffessionals telling you how it goes down in a restaurant.

You wouldnt go tell your car mechanic how to fix your car. Even if you think you know a brake rotor from a camshaft your mechanic fixes cars 8 hours a day, he knows more than you.

  • Fine Dining...Anyone who serves water glasses with advertisements doesn't seem like fine dining to me. Every time I have worked a fine dining function, a water glass is a short stemmed clear glass that is filled, upon the guest being seated. Oh...and I usually don't ask them. We do it before they even order anything.

  • Usually what I get is someone complains they're cold, then the next guest complains they're hot. So I tell both guests that I will turn it down or up (whatever the case may be) then I just don't adjust it at all. And when I come back to them and ask if they are better...They always say yes...even though I didn't do a damn thing.

  • Nope...not to many modifications at all, Hell I don't have to cook the shit, I just ring it in. Just seem silly that's all

  • Of course I'm a customer. I just don't let silly things tic me off like a waiter bringing me a refill that I didn't ask for. I just ask them if I can get something different...They are happy to oblige.I still tip them well and I don't sit around counting how many seconds of my life I have wasted waiting for another drink.

  • "They shouldn't have to do that"

What? Be polite and just wave your pitcher away?...Sorry I caused them to strain their wrist...LOL!

  • Oh yes it is someone's way...Severs have many different styles and approaches...As long as people are happy there's no need to change it

  • Well some didn't want it but they just let it sit there, and there was no harm done. I just clear them away if they don't use them.

  • Well, Spring I worked last night from 4pm to 830pm. I sold around $700 in food and made $140 dollars (after tipping out busser and bar) and was out before anyone could say BOO! Got two compliments from guests leaving. Got everyone water who ordered alcohol even though they didn't ask (because usually they forget) and no one thought I was LAZY or INCONSIDERATE. As long as I'm making good money, I'll do it my way and not yours. PS..Have you ever served in your life?

  • Funny that. I've only complained to a manager or corporate entity once in my entire life. Tells you where the fault lies doesn't it. So someone got the wrong food. If it's taken care of promptly, there is no need to complain. Servers are human, not robots and mistakes get made. Apparently, you have never made a mistake in your life. Your boss must love you.

  • Now, an extremely long wait time...Yeah, I can see your concern

  • No, I'm not going to APOLOGIZE for bringing you a drink you didn't want, that is free. Sure, I'll get you a different drink, but the small amount of time it takes me to do that, well if that's your only complaint and you DEMAND an apology, your more stuck-up than I thought.

  • "No I don't do that, That would be rude."

    You would be a first

  • I have no problems with people making modifications. It just seems that if you wanted to create your own dish, you should have stayed home and cooked it. You sound pretentious and full of yourself.

  • Never thought about the other customers who maybe didn't want it turned down did you. Servers have to please as many people as they can in a short amount of time.

  • Actually I would have brought 2 cokes and two waters for the margarita customers to sip on while the margaritas were being made...unfortunately you would have accused me of bringing a drink to you without asking you first.

  • I can spot your type a mile away. Comes and and doesn't bother to tell the host he wants a seat near a window until he's been taken to the table. Then complains about the air conditioning. Then makes 3 billion modifications to his order. Interrupts the server when the server asks a question. Sends the food back because it has a sprig of parsley on it and then complains to the manager about the arrogance of the server who refilled his drink without asking..Oh yeah..I know your number.

  • Oh Well forgive me for wasting two seconds of your precious and important time (pfft), Like I give a @#$% for a stupid #$%^ who gets all hypertensive about me not asking if he would like the same drink or not...Get a life and stop bothering your server dude, You sure expect a lot for a tip that might or might not be forthcoming on a 3.65 dollar an hour wage.

  • DUDE>>>>YOU ARE WAY TOO UPSET ABOUT THIS AND IT SHOWS. I can't believe you make it a point to troll video blogs about something so insignificant as an instructional video for servers about refilling drinks. Like I said before, you have way too much time on your hands and complain over simple little stupid things. Take your fingers off the caps. It's shown that people who use too many caps are at risk for heart attack, as well as getting upset about minuscule things.

  • Most managers get concerned when they see drinks not being refilled and every server handbook I have read for any place I have ever worked has stated that drinks are to be refilled "automatically upon being half full". If you don't like it, you can call the company and ask them to change their training manuals.

  • "It actually DOES happen More times than not"

I doubt it. If this is your only complaint about a server, you obviously don't dine out to often. Either that, or you dine out too often because you enjoy giving your servers a hassle. It doesn't bother me if you want a different drink, I am more than willing to get you a different one, and it takes all of 2 seconds. I waste more time asking everyone if they want the same drink when I know most of them do.

  • Then I have a question for you. Why do you think I take the menu away from you once you place your order? Because you are done ordering. PS. You can lay off the CAPS dude.

  • "No, we have tipped 20%-25% LOTS of times."

Having worked as a server for the better part of 20 years off and on, and saying that most guests want you to refill their drinks automaticall, and being as that is what most servers do....If it makes you that mad...I seriously doubt you tip 20-25% lots of times...That would mean that most servers ask you first...and I know that doesn't happen.

  • God, it must be charming having you as a guest in a restaurant. If somone wants a different drink all they have to do is ask. You make it seem like I shot your mother or something...Get over yourself1

  • Nope...I still stand by it...You're looking for excuses. A customer like you comes in only once in a blue moon (thank God). I would say that 99.9 percent of the people I serve want their drinks refilled. They usually don't like paying for 5 or 6 different drinks. The only ones I ask about refills for are the ones that are charged for each time...Your still just being nitpicky and looking for excuses...FAIL!

  • Getting someone a drink without them having to ask all the time...That's lazy and inconsiderate....You have WAYYYYY too much time on your hands. More than what is safe for the world.

  • All these people complaining about not being asked for refills are crotchety old bastards. If you don't want refills just ask, otherwise I will assume you do want them. Someone who complains about automatic refills is being nitpicky and probably won't tip anyway. They are looking for excuses. In most places, you should be greatfull that the server refilled your drink at all.

  • If a server brings you water and asks to refill your cup...but you no longer want water, just let them know. "Can I refill your glass sir(m'am)?" "Oh no thank you its fine...could i get a xxx instead?" Its not that hard to just say "no" to the server, nor do I find it to be that big of a hassle...

  • wow your really hating on these videos huh? lol

  • How do you deal with refills when the drink is not free refills (could be expensive).. and perhaps the customer does not know that it will cost another $5 for another round..

  • never assume that they want water or any thing for that matter if it looks half empty ask to fill it .. that water was all gone so if i was there her tip would go down because of it .. and why waste cups when she could use the same one ..

  • Well maybe you shouldn't go 2 fine dinnin. That's how it is, seriously. There was an article about this guy went out 2 eat. They never refilled his glass, he stopped goin there. But you always have to refill there glass, if you don't, don't be rude about it. Just be like no more water.

  • You never backhand a customer. It's rude!

  • You should ALWAYS refill there water glass without asking, but theres a limit. Try 2 keep around 75 to 80% of the glass, It does get annoyin if you take a sip and they refill it, just depends on the busser or waiter. Plus theres always a rush hr. People just like to be a step ahead.

  • Water is the only thing you should be refilling without asking first. I liked some of her other videos. But this one just wasn't too good.

  • shouldn't a girl that skilled/hot be working the bar.....making real money.

  • i just wanna send this girl the msg that to be polite 1st u dont have the right to put ur hands on the table when ur talking with the customer 2nd thing is that u can take his cup to reffil it but u should bering him another one and pull the empty one away replacing it with a new one and i make u sure u'll get 20$ minimum:P!

  • Hmm, while I don't disagree on the whole with your general idea here amigo, I would say that it would have worked out a lot better if she had just brought him the drink without asking or making acknowledgement that the drink was even low. It shows consideration for customers like this one who were obviously doing fine.

Again I don't necessarily disagree, as it should be the customer's choice, these are merely my thoughts.

  • Comment removed

  • it must be bar policy to phrase the question so as to make some diners think that they should get a drink, that its expected..
