At first he tried to stuff as much of it as he could in his mouth, then he realized it was all his and spit out the bread and started eating in front of us.
We then decided that a slice of bread with a lot of jelly on a bed was not a good idea, so we tried to move it to the floor, but then Samson freaked out because he thought he couldn't have it. Then he proceeded to spread jelly all over our room.
loool, my rats do that when you try to take their corn on the cob from them. i have one rat who i suspect might have been abused or neglected in his other home because he's very shy and he jumps if you move too quickly near him. i think they might have denied him food too because he has this habit of stashing all their food under his litter box..

X3 i love him so much!! he's my big fat boy, my dad says he's the fattest mouse he's ever seen! =D but i had a friend who had a mouse and she looked like a rat! but she had 3 tumors. =[ But i but raspberry tart jam on my finger and he licks it off and nibbles on it without any harm. ='] he's such a sweetheart! i pick hi up all the time and give him kisses, he loves kisses, he usually crawls up my shoulder to kiss me! such a sweetie!! Always makes me sad when they squeak like that. Do they really think we'll take it from them? I've never ever taken food from my rats, and they squeak, too. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't such a high pitched sound. Like the very prospect of having their precious num-nums taken away causes them such internal agony... angsty things, they are... but so cuuuute. ♥
Aww...those peanuts are very good these days. Our rats loved peanuts; they might have been a favorite food. Whenever my sisters and I held peanuts in the cage door they'd only sniff once before snatching them from our fingers ^.^
LOL just like my rats. My poor sister always thought they were hurting each other until one day I noticed one went near the other while it was eating and the one that was eating squeaked. I called my sister and showed her and she was both relieved as well as annoyed, haha. All this time we'd been worried over them and they were just being whiney. XD

i've never heard rats making noise, only cuz i see them at petsmart where i live...but i want to get one....i'm just worried i wont do well cuz i never had one...but i have had a guinea pig...i heard its kinda the same.
I want rats too! but you have to get more than one cos they're very social. They're requirements are more specific than guinea pigs. They're quite a bit smarter so you gotta do your research. I think they're so smart and adorable though! :D
They are great pets in my opinion, but like AbiHey said, if you want rats for pets you should get two so your rat has a cagemate. If you get only 1 you need to spend about 3 hours with it, socializing it. If it has a cagemate you only need to spend half an hour with it. It's better if you are a busy person and make the rat happier (though the rat in this vid seems a bit antsy at the idea of another rat taking her food, haha)

@bugdragon131313 Why does everyone say that about their pets/kids whatever? It makes no sense, just 'cus you were able to walk into a pet shop and buy the thing doesn't mean you know how to treat it but the rat is only squeaking to avoid sharing, no big deal mine do the same.

Once me and my roommate gave our rat, Samson, a slice of bread with a bunch of jelly on it.
