Since wow version 4.0.3.13329 there is little you can change that isn't already achievable through just setting the ingame settings to ultra.

You can change some things but the detail gain is insignificant and is a huge performance hit.

If your using these command from 2008 your actually lowering most of your setting if you have it already on ultra. Only 2 command are higher then ultra.

farclip 777 - ultra is 1250

horizonfarclip - no longer in game and is merged with farclip command

groundeffectdensity 256 - this is the only thing that's higher then ultra which is 128

groundeffectdist 140 - ultra is 260

smallcull - no longer in game

skycloudlod - still works

characterambient - no longer in game

WoW is weird, it's more processor power than graphics card from what i see. Upgrading from a x800 to a 4850 i saw no frame increase, until i upgraded my processor.

the higher the resolution, the more strain on the system

e.g. 800x600 will get more Frames than 1024x768 would.

just turn your resolution down in the wow options, keep your monitor. Maybe you should invest in a new processor, or if you have a really old GFX card it would hurt to get a 4650 or something

Depends on your hardware. If your computer's good, it won't make much difference (not much visual difference, frames will drop, but going from 60 FPS to 40 FPS won't make you see a thing).
