The reason he doesn't call Cooper is because of stuff like this. Sure he can score these kinds of goals but the fact that he would take this shot, albeit a good one, rather than turn and find an open player is what can make a difference in a game. Ching is able to bring way more players into the game and doesn't risk the team losing by taking ridiculous shots. At the moment though, it seems Davies is fine for the U.S. I think that Cooper should have gone instead of Casey though. He's not great.

I'm not saying he should be played ahead of Davies or Altidore, but I think that he benefits the team more than Cooper. Cooper's job is to score, Ching's job is to help the team keep possession and bring different players into the game. Berbatov for Manchester United was brought in because they needed someone like that. I think they can both serve a purpose to the team. Ching will most likely be gone after the WC, but I think he's done a fine job.
