Wow, that looks awesome :) I'm saving up for this phone at the moment, I live in the UK and it's now 150 quid from the Carphone Warehouse :) I recommend this phone, it's one of the best touch screen phones around and yet, it's not that expensive! :)

there are lots of codecs for avi files, not all are compatible with the phone

divx and xvid codecs work for example.

for big buck bunny, search the title in google and you'll find the official site with the free download of the video, for rocky i bought the dvd and converted it to divx.

hi I am thinking of buying the jet. In your video you show that it reads avi. is it a special avi file (divx/xvid) or a regular avi file.

on a page I saw that you can also play mp4. is that true or do you need to convert mp4 to MPEG4?

you can convert your dvds with a free program called VirtualDub

no not necessary...but there are lots of avi files with lots of different video and audio codecs, so all avi files won't be read, but must of. and Do not try a HD avi file, it won't read it for sure, max resolution is 720x480.

divx is a vague term, there are so many codecs, i don't know if the phone can read them all, i doubt it. For sure the divx codec is working. To convert or resize or edit my videos i use a program called VirtualDub, it's a bit complicated at first but with some pratice you can do things easily. A simplier solution is to use Videora Ipod Converter which converts videos to mp4.

yeah i'm very happy with this phone.

It has 1.5gb of internal memory and you can add a micro SD card up to 16gb.

You can had lots of java apps and games.

if we talk about OS speed and applications available, then the iphone is way better. If we talk about size, battery life, camera and screen display and resolution, then the Jet is way better.

it's a theme from my phone provider, i cannot change it (only the background picture and the color). AMOLED screens are the best !

don't put avi files that have a higher resolution than 640x480 or the phone won't read them.

you cannot have full screen touch games if the game is not optimised for the Jet.

check your internet settings. go to Menu, click Internet. then Settings and go to Preferences. Make sure everything is ON.. then go back to your browser and try watching videos on YouTube.

maybe your phone service provider does not allow you to transfer high data such as video streaming, or your mobile internet bandwidth is not fast enough, i don't know. Did you try the wap version of youtube ?

It may the the source of your problem, i don't know.

search "youtube mobile" on google, you'll have the link to a lighter version which may work better.

Im getting 1 of these phones tomorrow, i normally watch southpark, futurama and simpsons in bed on my ipod touch but it annoys me converting which is pain when i try and convert 20 seasons of simspsons to mp4 will take days but i hear this supports avi etc which is great news :D
